in many forum posts like "then I tried MY ref 10 pre-amp with MY transparent opus cables to drive MY ref 750 amps. Source was MY select dac. I never heard MY q5’s throwing this wide a stage. I felt MY new stillpoints were removing all the glare. Then I plugged in MY lampi and was impressed even more. I decided to sell MY krell amps. It was time to sit back and enjoy one of MY favorite scotchs”

I counted 21 my’s in a post that was three paragraphs long. Hey I come from a similar system and good for us! But why the emphasis on the possessives when there is the good old THE? I started seeing them in bold and capital letters.

Because maybe the laws of physics only works in THEIR system!

I would suggest a different take on your post...

Because maybe the laws of physics DO NOT apply to their systems

Several possible reasons: :)

1. The poster reads WBF and wants to make clear he has strong bias towards this equipment as he paid for it.
2. His neighbor owns a similar system and he wants to make clear he is addressing his system.
3. He his advertising the system at Audiogon and wants to reassure prospective buyers about proprty of the system
4. He knows that someone in the forum will be tempted to suggest he should change the Q5s to Q7 mk2 and wants to emphasize that he is the one who takes decisions.

Who wants ice cream?
