I have a pair of QuickSilver V4 mono amps designed for the KT150... I am VERY interested in these tubes!

Over the past few months I have written Tung-Sol and they do not reply... all I want are official data tables
Any more information on these tubes?

I was hoping for something 'official' from Tung-Sol.
My QuickSilver V4's, which were designed for the KT150 tube, have a low screen voltage on the output tubes of 300 volts, if these Data Sheets are correct, would that be too low of a voltage?
This is official - the Tung Sol brand is owned by Electro Harmonics. Link is to the EH web site.

If you go to the Audiophonics site and search Tungsol, you will see the KT150/170 and more info along with data sheets for both.

For some reason, when the link is shown there are thick lines put through the sentences, this must be an apple issue , maybe to do with codecs? Iam using a Iphone!

Hm...
I asked the founder/owner of QuickSilver, Mike Sanders, if the KT170 would work in my V4 mono amps, as they were designed around the KT150's and he just sent me an email stating:

"The KT150 sounds much better."
and
"We do have these tubes now and they do put out a lot of power but at much higher distortion than the KT150. They would
work in the V4 but would not sound as good as the KT150."

Was not expecting that response...

Does not make sense, if this was the case allnic or jadis would not have released KT170 models? time will tell.

I was very surprised when I read his reply... maybe the tubes don't work with my amp for some reason, maybe the low screen voltage on the output tubes (300 volts) is not high enough for the KT170?

In conversation with KS, my understanding to attain the best benefits the KT170 offers, some circuit and chassis redesign was needed. Larger power transformer, larger chassis with thicker metal and other implementation to reduce vibration. Their new integrated T-2000 30th Anniversary KT170 changes wattage rating from 100 W to 120 W.

My Quicksilver V4 mono amps will use the KT170 no problem, transformer is already plenty large enough, I have plenty of space between the tubes to fit the KT170, but Mike Sanders of Quicksilver says he tried using the KT170 in his Mono 120 amp and that the KT170 was much noisier than the KT120 tube.

Not sure what it would take to 'quiet' the KT170 so I can use it in my V4 mono amps?
