What Gifts Did You Receive For The Holidays That Upholds, Serves or Elevates Your Audiophile Obsession ?

Some may think this corny ... not so much a piece of gear - I got the gift of knowledge and insight from several of my friends here on WBF - some great music recommendations too. I appreciate that. My thoughts on music and music reproduction continue to evolve. Amid the clutter and frou-frou there is much to be learned here.

I especially appreciate the time you took to explain your record care methodology. Behavior I characterize as nobility of the soul.

This tiny adapter from Hyper Design serves a simple, but important function: its male lightning jack plugs into the charging port of an iPhone, and terminates in a female USB-C port. It gives users the functionality of a USB-C input—a common port for many accessories—right on an iPhone .. like a DAC to headphones.
That’s a great album! I use the song America as one of my vinyl “reference tracks”
Happy new year!

Happy almost-New Year. I've spent some more time with the Furutech Clear Line and find it is consistent in allowing the clarity of music insights I mentioned above (in my system). Regarding tonal balance, I’ve listened closely to area radio announcers I know well - three of whom I’ve had face-to-faces with at various music functions over the years - and there isn’t any detriment to the female voices, and while the deeper male voices seem at first blush to have slightly less chest resonance, closer listening reveals there to be better differentiation of the men's individual instruments. This was consistent when listening to males singing; with Wunderlich, Fischer-Dieskau, Ghiarov, and Warren used for this comparison.

Overall, I'd say there is subjectively a lighter balance that shows itself with large-scale music, but for me, the greater insight into musicianship is worth the trade. I’m hoping to have benefit of an audio friend's perspective next month and will pass on his views should they be
different from mine in any way. He's also a better resource for thoughts on aspects like soundstage and imaging.
It seems your system does not show how Furutech Clear Line close the sound.

If you listen to Furutech Clear Line in a right/transparent/dynamic system then you will find it harmful for dynamics.

Thanks, Amir, for your help! Wow, it's rare that someone with your obvious gifts and experience volunteers information like this free of charge. I've taken your Audiophile Expert view to heart and removed the Furutech product. I've told the person who gave it to me for Christmas what you said and why I wouldn't be using it anymore. She was a bit hurt and upset, but then she's used to making do with What'sNotCloseToBest and listening through our non-Audiophile Expert selected hifi.

Amir, is there something from your store or audio import business I could buy from you to make my system right/transparent/dynamic? Or at least replace what was lost from removing the Furutech? Also, I would like to give you SOMETHING for your Audiophile Expert help.

I told you before I am not expert but you did not read my comment, what you need is not my recommendation to use or use not any audio equipments , what you and Ked need is to respect experts and try to learn true audio thinking before any judgment.

Sorry, my bad. You're usually on my ignore list so it is possible I did not read the comment you mentioned. Since you are not expert, I will look for help finding the path to TAT* somewheres else. <IGNORE>
