What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

mainly five points:

- Noisy Bearing
- little vibrating pulley
- no fine speed control
- speed changes over listening hours due to warm up of the motor / Motor electronics (after 30 to 60 min speed need to be fine tuned again)
- performance change over the time (warm motor sounds better, so full performance after 30 min)

Many modern motors (unfortunately not all) are doing this aspects better, some of them do even sound significant better.

The original motor has 9v DC, so not too much to improve with a better PSU.

It is just the question, if I like to reuse the original blue metal Chassis for a proper Pabst DC Motor , or if I go with a separate Chassis of an independent manufacturer.
The original blue one is not as nice, as I would like, Rolf Gemein and Envoegue motor and control units are looking better and looking more vital as part of the complete ensemble.

Did you consider the old Apolyt approach? The Revox/Studer capstan motor has a built-in high quality tachometer, it does not suffer from drift problems. http://www.knipschild.net/Brakemeier/apolyt.htm

My favourites are the Micro Seikis.

Here the nice Set up, RX-1500 with the brass platter from a dutch manufactuerer. The combination sometimes changes.

unfortunately no Brand for the manufacturer. It started as a project (like the DDK AS project) for a group of vinyl enthusiasts,
15 were built to high manufacturing standards. Platter, Bearing and Tonearmstand are still outstanding , but current times have developed better drives,
so I exchanged the Motor (to J Sikora or Dereneville, not yet fully sure)

Do you have more details on this project? Can you post a photo of the bearing of the turntable? IMHO people focus the discussion of turntables mostly on type of drive, ignoring the critical aspects of the bearing.

Looks like an inverted bearing design and from Shakti's comments it must be a very good one.

I will have a Holbo soon. Hopefully shipping out next week from the factory. I am really excited for this piece, as I haven't had an analog source for quite a few years now. I like the clean design of this table, most air-bearing arms/tables look like an oil rig. Obviously the sound quality is what is important, but certainly looks/design a big part too.

Yes Vyger and kodo beat with aesthetix IO eclipse, Allnic 5000 and Dartzeel phonos, multiple carts. My report after one more visit. But he is not on the forum
