What's Spinning Tonight?

---The saddest thing is that most young people who listen to MP3 from their iPods,
will never have the chance to explore Bill Evans Trio.

Why? Because they listen to RAP music, or Metal, or Punk, or Alternative Punk, or stuff that doesn't have heart & soul.

Yes you're right, but they will have lot's of NOISE.:):):)

I don't agree with this line of thinking. Just because they listen to that stuff now does not mean they will not explore other genre's latter. I know my taste in music has changed as I have gotten older.

I would guess you are not exclusively listening to the stuff you were listening to as a teenager.

+1000...I have experienced the same thing...started with rock, added jazz and now gtting hooked on classical 30 years later from my rock roots.

-----My first ever albums (LPs) were Classical music. ...And then The Beatles, on eight-track tapes.

But you're right; at a later age there is nothing that tells us that they will not switch to better musical dispositions.
Hopefully they will. :b

As long as those musical forms are kept alive, both in recordings and live performances, today's youth will have the opportunity to get interested.

Lee

Some more classical treats for me...this is a fun journey.

mine are the classic record reissues..in this case one of the 1990 export boxes. No pops, no ticks...good luck finding that with original shaded dog.

This just in and currently spinning. Very powerful, accurate and the sound stage is incredible.

Supertramp - Breakfast In America. ----Just came in the mail! Woohoo! Half-speed mastered and from the original analogue tapes using the same JVC process as the early MFSL releases. :D

Hello, John. It's been a couple of weeks since I gave this one a spin. I'll have to listen to it again to fill you in on my gripes [getting old]. I must have listened to 30 or more albums since then. Tell ya' what. When I give it another listen, which will be most likely this weekend, I'll offer a full review of it. ;)

Only saw the post today ( don't know how I missed it), but no worries. Between you and I (ok, everyone close their eyes) I am getting older as well...it's a curse at times I tell you. LOL! I'm off tomorrow so I'll do the same and cue it up again.........it'll be interesting to hear how you feel about it.

---EMI Classical catalog redone on SACDs; but using the PCM domain, instead of pure DSD!
