What's Spinning Tonight?

This ain't no Heavy Metal from Germany; it's Electronica music from Switzerland.

I didn't listen to this for the last twenty years...I was just experimenting. I won't listen to it no more...I'm switching to Madeleine Peyroux now:

Yeah, that's more like it...my mello yello me. ...Where jazz rains.

Just bought it Bob. Thanks.

It was a very popular album back then...and some tunes I really like...track #3 for example, which was the reason I decided to take another spin...out of the blue (memories).
So I listened to the entire CD. It's good party/dancing music...girls they like it. I got all their main CDs, but don't listen to them anymore.

* Amir, just curious...you have been buying quite a bit of music recently...you're in that zone which I used to be for a very long time.
I was spending a lot every month on CDs. You get yours mainly from hi-res downloads...roughly, average per month?

We all have our musical journeys; with time our music taste evolve too. ...There are some music genres we feel more comfortable with, and it can vary a lot too.
...From old rock classics, to jazz that we all know (Davis, Coltrane, etc.), to classical, to alternative, to new age, blues, world music...

I like opera, chamber, flamenco, music from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Africa, ...
I like dancing music, I like music of high emotional sadness, broken heart, blues, I like spiritual music, I like soul music, motown, I love solo piano music, cello, violins, I love female singers of blues and jazz, ...there is so much music and so little time...

I have not tried to add it up Bob. Here is a nice snapshot from Roon that may be helpful:

As you can see this is the second growth spurt in my library. I am still coming from behind compared to many folks here so the guilt of overbuying has not set in. :)

Overbuying never sets in when what you buy is what you love buying, and that there are still funds available.
What is more distracting is not what you do; it's what others criticizing what you do and you starting to doubt.

Anyway, I remember not having any limits in my music buying spree, and be totally involved...like an unstoppable force of new discoveries.

My exposure to smooth sound goes back way when. And later on with the better music record labels I started floating more freely...finally.
Yes, it's the music we love...but it also is the same music we love well recorded that assists our communion with deeper emotional fulfillment.

What is music well recorded?

Finishing up The Band of Heathens, "The Band of Heathens". Redbook. Great album. Next up, Bob Kindred, "Gentle Giant of the Tenor Sax". Redbook.

Due to previous post from others - thanks

NightBird - Eva Cassidy
Blowin' your mind - Van Morrison
Both cd's

Two different performances of Brahm's Double Concerto for Violin and Cello followed by The Carla White/Manny Duran Band - Andraline, a NYC scat/jazz band that I first heard performing at the Blue Note. Unbelievable skatting and trumpet duo.

? I'm a big huge fervent Lucinda's fan...for many many years...even before people finally realized the power of her voice and songwriting...the true emotional essence.
This, her latest album (double-CD); it's new and it's the first time for me. ...If you aren't familiar with her, spend some time investigating and demo some of her best songs from her best albums. Perhaps like me you'll be floating high above life's intempéries.

The music, the songs, the words, the voices, the sweet sounds, ...the music is power. ...It's like love @ first sight.

Hello all, MylesBAstor has unfortunately left the forum since this thread's inception. We encourage all new members and guests to still join in on the conversation. What is it that you are spinning tonight?

Thank you for starting the thread Myles. ;)

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!

This is a vinyl-only thread? When did that happen? Or did I start posting on it without reading the initial post? The latter is very much possible.

I may need to go delete a bunch of posts here.

Darn, it was nice to have a place on the forum where people actually got excited about each other's posts.

Oh well.

No doubt. Let's talk vinyl. I want to start collecting. Where the best source?
