The Cranberries ‎– Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?. 1993 original Euro pressing.
back to the dark ages on vinyl where record companies tried their hardest to kill it. Now they can't get enough of vinyl.

Dead Can Dance ‎– The Serpent's Egg. original 1988 4ad UK release, MPO pressing. beautiful album and remember buying this from Phantom records in their 4ad section back in the day.
Most audiophiles might not know this exists as it was not reissued by Mofi

Tonight I'm spinning local stuff: Herbert Grönemeyer is one of the most famous artists over here. And for years I just couldn't stand his 2002 Album "Mensch" ("Human Being"). According to the BVMI list this is the best ever selling album in Germany. The downside of that: in the early 2000's you just couldn't escape it on the radio. It was just too much.

But recently, after enough time has passed, I re-discovered this album and must admit that it is actually quite a work of art.

Herbert Grönemeyer started to work on this album to finally come to terms with the loss of both his wife and his brother who passed away from cancer in a matter of just a few days four years earlier. Most of the lyrics are about loss and how to deal with it, actually quite well described in the respective Wikipedia article.

Check out "Mensch", "Der Weg", "Unbewohnt", "Zum Meer".

Prince ‎– HITnRUN Phase One. even at the end, he was brilliant. She likes to party hard, she's a hotrocklover. the last two tracks, 1000 X's & O's & June are up there with Sometimes It Snows In April as the perfect ending to an album.

Latest album from Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrrisi and it’s a stunner both musically and sound quality wise.
All her previous solo albums were wonderful but here she ups her game.
A combination of roots folk with African and Arabian influences and a sprinkling of Italian for good measure.
Listening in 24/96 from Highresaudio.
