What's the most recent piece of audio equipment you have purchased and when?

Yup. You got that right. You know me, ever the optimist. :D

With it comes the D7 USB 24/192 DSD capable DAC. I'm curious about that particular unit. It looks like a great all-rounder having a volume control and headphone amp.

I'm on the list for the new LH Dual DAC and Source too.

I should stop now. My wife might be lurking!!!!! She's already put me on cup noodles for my transgressions so early in the year. :D

Has she been eying a fancy pair of shoes lately, Jack? A surprise purchase of them for her might get you off the cup-o-noodles diet. At least until your next purchase....

Tom

Worse. Life Insurance on me! LOL!

And when and what do you think the next piece will be?

In my case, the most recent piece(s) were two APS Purepower Power Re-generators. One I got about 2 or 3 weeks ago and the other is "in the mail" (or not!).

Next (this coming Friday) I am re-acquiring my Dunlavy VI's that I had sold to a friend who is upgrading to Magico Q5's. And some used Bryston amps to drive them.

After that (once I figure out what brand/function) MAY be a preamp.

After that, NOTHING but more music (and movies!)

I didn't know there's another Dunlavy owner on the board. Nice. Do you still have the SCVIs?

My last audio purchase was an AT33PTGII. Bought it a few months back. Not counting raw cable and plugs, my next audio purchase will likely be an Asian phono stage that an audiophile I trust has been using. Planning for the summer.

The last piece of stereo gear I purchased was May 2012. I upgraded my Raidho C3.0 planar-magnetic tweeters with the revised C3.1 tweeters constructed with a new waved interlocked conductive trace pattern. The 3.1 tweeter membrane is driven over a much larger area reducing the non-driven areas by more than 90%. It was arguably one of the most cost effective upgrades I've made in the last few years because the tweeter plays such an important role starting from the high mids. IMO Raidho is one of the leading edge R&D speaker manufacturers using costly and unique in-house speaker driver approaches. They've provided me with great customer support.

My last purchase was last week, a pair of TAD R1... :)
The best speaker I ever heard. Unless to say I am very very happy... :)

HRS M3 isolation platform second hand...the voicing of the transport is the same, just more concentrated, solid. I did not think it would work as the transport is quite solidly designed with multiple layers of thick acrylic then aluminum then acrylic then aluminim, etc. But it did.

I changed speaker directions and moved to active speakers a year or so ago: Mark Seaton Catalysts (http://www.seaton-sound-forum.com/post/undefined/post?id=3044980#1).

I started with his subs for my HT and was so blown away by how incredible they were (I have owned LOTS of subs previously), I investigated his mains and bought sight unseen (or that would be sound unheard). I have not looked back.

My most recent purchase was The bsg technologies qøl™ Signal Completion Stage. Many purists would not consider it but I am not a "purist" as I'm looking for an enjoyable listening experience --- and this is certainly a component that takes me in that direction.

You can press the family and relatives into service too! :)

last month i acquired a new pair of Harbeth S-HL5 in rosewood. ive been missing my old Spendor SP100s and SP1/2s for too long and the HL5s are a nice substitute, they're great music makers and easy to drive - so far, I like them a lot.

That's it? No comments? No color? No comparisons? ;) We want to know! ;) ...in all seriousness, how does it compare with other SOTA preamps you have listened to? Congrats, BTW...that is some serious electronics you have on your hands.
