I went through them all again. I fully understand the recording device and each room acoustics plus their setups.

We all have a different set of ears and music recording preferences.
In the overall scheme of the affairs, I have already posted two music snippets that stood out for me.
https://www.whatsbestforum.com/thre...-coverage-with-some-videos.28033/#post-575169

I can add this (the first is simply the same room and setup than a previous one I posted), and the next two are another new room and setup:

_____

I would add this one too:

When you have time go through the WE videos completely
Get a Samsung mobile. Invest for us a little. The Samsung mic is more accurate and sensitive than what you have.

Or get an attachment calibrated mic, so then you'll really argue with me when I say what I think.

Example for an attachment calibrated Mic?

Very good stuff kedar and great writing (albeit a bit direct) as usual. But then that’s your style so don’t give that up. I heard the videos and loved the WE room video - one gets a clear sense of air despite this being recorded on a phone mic and played through my iPad!

Oh I hold back. I haven't written a lot.

This was one report very easy to show by videos without writing so when you read other "written only" opinions you can make what you like of them

Video of JC Morrison of Silbatone introducing the WE system. I thought his talk was quite interesting.

Please use headphones or stream to a speaker. Videos are short, but you will probably not have time to go through them in one setting, so come back for a later listen. There is not much point in just scrolling through this report by reading.
This write up has many brief videos, quite a few on western electrics, followed by other horns. Some other videos or verity audio, Engstrom (with Verity, Goebbel, Kharma), some videos of Michael Fremer’s demo of the SAT direct drive TT in the CH marten room, and of Nishikawa San demonstrating the Techdas AF0 in the CH vivid room.
The Odeon model is not 38/2 but a new model I heard was called Carnegie. Retail is 89k euro. Imo, the room closest in sound to your beloved WE room(which I loved as well) was the LV/Kondo room. Why you don’t give it some love is a mystery to me, especially when it excels at classical music. Don’t agree with you on Verity at all...never liked them before and this year didn’t change my opinion. For me the best budget room was Supravox + line magnetic, which for about 30k for the whole setup was excellent. No AC video or thoughts? Blumenhofer +Kr was ok but not near the best. Live Act Audio was great did you hear those?

I didn't hear Supravox and Live Act. Had no idea the Odeon was a different model, thought it was just a revamped 38/2. At the price you are saying think it is silly I would get an universum. AC I hadn't started taking videos. Also it is unfair to rate such a complex and expensive set up on a show demo in such a compromised room. Most of the other stuff I have commented on I have a lot of prior experience with, or had some common thread like common recordings and amps connecting them.

KR and Blu was good because it fits in a small room given the style of the horn. Just the speaker is over priced.

I never liked the LV at the show it is too colored and this time it was also disconnected with the bass. Am sure at the price it is at, the installation comes with tweaking to suit the buyer's taste, but apart from the gold, I don't see a reason for the price. And I never liked Kondo electronics anyway, though based on Gian's recommendation I want to hear the Neiro, Souga and the Kageki with appropriate speakers.

I have heard excellent horns between 10 and 40k depending on DIY, finish/looks, and branding. There is the occasional exception of a rarity like yamamura, or a well matched system like the General's pnoe. So for a full ranger, I don't see much reason to encourage price. Yes, for smaller rooms, designs like the Blu might help for those who have money but not room size.

Agree that the bass has been better in the past on LV, nonetheless, still more realistic than most else. Imo, WE room is just as “colored” but even more rolled off int the highs and bass...loved it despite obvious shortcomings.

Not sure why new Odeon is so expensive. About the same drivers as 38/2 but short horn on bass and bigger cabinet.

Brad, love yr comment about not being sure about why it's this pricey.

Wilson Benesch are releasing a tt/whole analog solution for c.£300k, CAD have a new ground box for £21k, an EMI/RF system's psu alone is £3k.

Those 3 prices alone should help your thinking.

Because they can.

No WE had plenty of extension. Listen to the videos. They played on Sunday everything from Shostakovich 5 and opera and jazz to reggae mix and electronica and rock

Obviously I wasn’t there but the vids certainly had upper extension.

I would like to see the measured specs of that field coil GIP tweeter horn - must go to 18khz minimum. I tried to find data earlier but couldn’t see anything online.

I made my own hirez (24/96) recordings on the room and compared to many other rooms I recorded there was less extension on both ends...didn’t matter though as it was easily in the top 3 most dynamic. The coloration is also clear but mild enough to overlook. Your iPhone is a poor substitute for a proper recording device.

Sorry, am basing my judgement on sitting there not after hearing my recordings on the phone. I said look at the recordings to see the range of music played and the extension in case you were unable to hear it properly. You mentioned, wrongly, in another post that it was good for limited music

The fact that someone else had more extension does not mean this was limited
