For all those who like to play a little. A little simulation of the new DTT-05.
It takes a moment for the animation to build up.

Zoom: press right mouse button and scroll wheel
Operation: Press the control elements with the left mouse button.

On my tablet it doesn't want to fully load up.
On my laptop (pad, no mouse), it loads but it doesn't move.

Do I need to connect my mouse?

Edit: Yes, I had to connect my mouse; then I can move the arm in various positions.
...Frontal, sideways, views from the top, underneath...
And pressing the control buttons on the arm the red digits move very slightly.

Best would be to buy the tonearm and get it installed on my TT so that I can see much better how it performs and hear the sound coming out. :)
I'll check my bank account first ...

This video was made at High End 2016 by Michael Fremer.
It shows the special version of the DTT-02. It is an extra long version for the big turntable.

By the way: it would fit perfectly on any AirForce Zero. :)

Cheers,
Rainer

Yes, I knew about that video and Michael Fremer doing the interview from few years ago.

* The arm would also accommodate the Air Force One?

Hi Bob and everyone who might be interested...
here are a few examples of what it might look like

The pre-drilled holes for additional arm base of AF1P are located on the side of the plinth in the rear where my previous picture show. I dont see anyway for you to put your arm where the two renderings showed without drilling the plinth. The AF1 owners are unlikely to do that. The way I see is you can only put your arm directly in the back using the pre-drilled holes. And it would then be a single arm tt. But maybe that's all the owner ever needs. ;)

Not mentioning name of any particular pivot arms that suppose to track laterally. I am sure you have seen them. In your opinion, strictly designwise, are they less accurate in doing perpendicular thing comparing to yours and why? And with your arm am I wrong to assume that the vta and azimuth are auto-adjusted by laser reading.

Thank you Tang,

I think that starting from the pre-drilled holes a special carrying angle = tonearm base has to be made.
To do this I would have to try to determine the exact dimensions of an AF1.
Maybe I will find a customer here in Germany who owns an AF1.

All this is still theory today but I think everything is possible if it becomes more concrete.

To your other Questions:
The VTA angle can be changed manually during playback.
The azimuth can be changed manually on the head shell.

Thanks,
Rainer

The only video that I could find with the arm in action ...
Humbling and putting the world in proper perspective when the demonstrator
asks Fremer if he has a turntable at home:rolleyes:

Could have been worse. He could have told Mikey what a piece of crap a 9" arm is.

What an out-of-perspective comment you just made; a little "un-gentleman" if I may say.

Marc, your reply is missing the point...the arm is adjustable to the length you want.

And Ked I have no clue what he thanking you both for, less than zero clue.

Bob, Ked thanks his lucky stars every single day because of me.

My comment on 9" arms was because Mikey so loves non-9" variants.
