The Aqua formula stands fifth or sixth in jazzhead's digital collection (i compared 4 and it would be 3 or 4 with trinity).
There is a guy I know who preferred the Atlantic to his aqua formula.
Larry toy has 15000 Decca and EMI originals and many tapes and enjoys his Lampi, that says a lot. He bought it used to try, and was provided great service on it (as the used product is backed ) and he also got a great trade in from GG to Pac. He has been attending classical concerts since the 60s and his wife is an expert pianist, he has ensembles playing at his place, owns two Bosendorfers and he and his daughter play viola
Mike, Marty will tell you that one of his main reasons for buying Lampi was that when he had visited you he partially preferred it to your analog
The Trinity was the one that competed at Jazzhead's for the bottom. Recently I received a compare video of trinity phono vs Aries cerat phono, and the Trinity totally destroyed the sound, same signature as the digital.
Jazzhead can also provide compare notes of trinity pre with koda pre
Ked, I don't think that's quite accurate. I was certainly impressed in a memorable way (which is unavoidable when you visit Mike), but not for pure sonics over his TT rig. What impressed me most was that it was the first time I heard digital piano playback sound really compelling (Moravec/Beethoven) coupled with the ability of having someone hand you a tablet and then tell you to pick basically anything you want to play and then have it come effortlessly through the speaker. That experience opened up possibilities that I would come to take advantage of several years later once Lampi evolved to their present capabilities. (Recall the earlier versions still required the tedium of manually switching between PCM and DSD which was a non-starter for me).Mike, Marty will tell you that one of his main reasons for buying Lampi was that when he had visited you he partially preferred it to your analog
No I am just saying. The reason you don't like Lampi in your system is I don't think valves work in your system. But trinity and aqua imo are poor digital and trinity seems that way all round. so I don't even like them in the same breath. MSB total dac, neodio are all fine.
So, koetsu coralstone vs Lyra lambda vs airtight Opus on SAT on Techdas.

Rank the links on Male vocals. It is tougher on this one, was more straightforward on the violin

For pagannini, I prefer 3, then 2. I is a distant last because it sounds dead to me.
3 is Opus, 2 is lambda, 1 is the koetsu.
On vocals, 1 is Opus, 2 is again lambda, 3 is koetsu.
Here is another Opus violin
Certainly possible Ked, since I'm not sure I can remember what I ate for lunch yesterday!Marty, I said " partially" because you had mentioned some aspects you preferred more when you described to me
Marty, Ked can not only tell you what you had, but how much you liked it, and whether you were right or wrong to have liked it.
Plus no disrespect to lampi pleaseMarty, Ked can not only tell you what you had, but how much you liked it, and whether you were right or wrong to have liked it.
