Owned a pair and a pair of 274b recti. There were two runs I know of on recti white and yellow ink
300 b as well I had newer yellow. sold the 300 b it was close enough to ps vanes we 300 b and I felt and still own the tak Version is better then the nos. And I’m not a fan of 300 b tubes always felt them to be slow and bass flabby
This is with Lampi

Did those WE 300Bs ever get manufactured?

The recent ones? Yes, apparently the people early on the waiting list already have them.

Also, they were in the WE 300B amp as early as Munich May 2019. I know I sat there and listened to said amp.

tesla rd27as is basically a nos px25. Has anyone compared it against nos px25? I have nos px25 and curious if I should consider trying to get a pair of the Tesla’s.

also, curious if anyone has actually tried nos ad1’s? Compared to Tesla ad1n? The ad1n are indirectly heated vs. ad1 dht

Justin aka User211 has them all.
Actually RD is not a regular nos version of PX25 but rather high power version of PX25 used exclusivelly for military/industry and never been sold outside that scope of customers.

Makes sense.

Justin: any comment on the nos px25 vs rd27as?

Anyone else compare nos AD1? Vs. tesla ad1n?

I'd like to thank @dminches who was kind enough to risk sending me his spare pair of 275As through the current turbulent mail system.

Lampi users indeed are a special breed.

My system is currently disconnected so I won't be able to try these out till later tonight.

Can our resident experts kindly let me know which heater setting these beauties should be run with?

I vastly prefer the Marconi / Osram PX25 to RDs. I have a very good testing pair of both. But I am running the RDs one volt too low.

Sometime soon I will adjust the DAC to run the RDs and PX25 exactly at 4V. I think it will make a significant difference. I am very lucky to be able to run any valve at its precise voltage rating. But it is an effort to do so. Normally I run valves with approximate heater settings as I believe all Lampizators do, though they are optimised for one valve out of the factory. Mine was last done by Lampizator for PX4. But the DAC has been radically altered since.

Look at your test data sheets for what the DAC was optimised with out of the factory, as Al said.

Tesla AD1n is NOS so I don't know what you mean. Only a lot of valves sold as NOS have in fact been used I reckon. Not all, but a lot!

Thanks for the info. If I understand what you are saying, if I have nos px25, getting rd27as might not be priority.

as for my ad1 vs ad1n, I was asking if you have compared a real ad1 from someone like valvo or maybe tungsram vs ad1n. Sorry if I wasn’t clear

No I am saying I don't know because I haven't run RDs under ideal conditions. I am even running Osram PX25 0.7V under voltage, and AD1n 0.5V over voltage. This sort of thing will be happening in all Lampis. It's only because I have been getting anal about what is going on because I am too curious. Most people shouldn't really worry too much, and just plug tubes in and see what works well.

That said, given PX25 and RDs are currently both under run until I adjust my DAC, both by quite a bit, I am still expecting to prefer PX25. But I dunno what will happen until I try.

I have EML AD1 and NOS Loewe AD1, a real AD1. The Loewe are really good.

My favourite Lampi valves are Loewe AD1, Osram PX25 and AD1n at the moment. They are all different in really good ways. Osram is killer for sounding really natural and realistic, really good with acoustic material especially. AD1n the most awesome bass and very good performance elsewhere. Loewe AD1 has a subtle smooth feel to it without adding sheen and just sounds really silky and 'nice'.

I feel guilty using the PX25s and Loewe due to the rarity. AD1n is really the best option as it's relatively cheap and robust enough to handle with less care than the other two. It also has the lowest microphony of anything I have come across. For those reasons AD1n is winner as an every day valve.

I have a naive question. I have Lumin U1 mini > B7 and considering a Sablon USB cable. Is there any handshake issues here?

thanks

I've never experienced and handshake issues with Sablon USB cables and my Lampi GG. I've used the powered version in the past and currently use the non-powered version.
