Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

I just placed the order for the Horizon. The real Copper top is nice but the Normal Copper Top has a deeper Copper Hue/Color to it. I think it complements the Black more. Thank you to all the enablers for pushing the right buttons! Maniacs!! That's what we all are, Audiophile Maniacs!! John

I won’t say congrats. Rather welcome to the Lampi club!! You’ll enjoy - for granted!

I still think the Horizon would look great leather clad.
With a zipper on the front over the nixie display?
"Get out the gimp"-style? :eek::p:D

Zipper in the back, like our straight jackets....

I am using RCA cables on my Pacific but will be switching to XLR cables on the Horizon. Any recommendations?

Westminster Standard or Ultra XLR's solid core XLR's. Fast and transparent with terrific bass definition should complement your Horizon and the rest of your tube-based system nicely. Both are available for no-obligation in-home audition.

signed "biased" :)

I wonder how many know the reference lol. Good one
I was surprised how many movie buffs there are on WBF ;)
Quite some nice quotes, hints, signatures and even forum names (e.g. @thedudeabides ) spread over the forums here

I would ask @DaveC to send you some cables to try.
And if you do, please report back ;)

I am about to pull the trigger. One last question: Is the Horizon as transparent as the Pac? Is it warmer? I believe that it is better in every way as many of you say, but is it different tonally?

The pac was or is warm of neural no matter what tube used. The H is more true to source less signature of its own
you can still do as needed with cables or various other ways. to me like headphones best is neutral and you adjust as needed
if you start out too warm there is little to change
Would you say that Pacific with 242s is less warm than GG2 with 242s, and then the H is less warm than Pacific with 242s? It’s hard to imagine, wouldn’t it make the H sound like DCS? Just kidding:)

I think both pac and gg2 have a similar sound in warmth
where the pac is a bigger bolder sound a bit more inner detailed
the gg2 is a more intimate sound
neither seems warm but obviously is. dcs is nails if it’s not in the right setup. pac or gg2 never have edge
both dacs are very good
but the H is another universe to me
I don’t think anyone has heard all it has as yet. It’s that far above any past lampi and any dac I ever heard. i don’t mean to pea on others it’s just how I feel as of now.
