Ron's Favorite Private Rooms + Systems of All Time

I don’t think that the sound that you have presented with your own system makes your a credible arbiter; therefore I would trust my own assessment of the sound on video over your “in person, in the room reporting”. Sorry, but the level of lack of understanding that you have displayed & results that you have achieved with your own system does not allow me to trust your judgement of others’ systems. Sorry I have to be honest.

You often forget this is a subjective hobby. If the bright, aggressive, fatiguing sound I hear in your videos accurately reflects what you hear in your room, then we have different sonic preferences.

I share my knowledge and share videos of my systems. That is all I do. Should I muzzle myself to make you and others feel better? It won’t change the facts! You should embrace my knowledge and not feel threatened.

Let’s review the facts: Ron can’t even setup his own turntable or positition & dial in his speakers.

This is not a fact, because it is false. There is a big difference between "can't" and "chooses not to."

I have had a turntable since 1989. I set up my VPI TNT MK. IV completely by myself, I installed the Graham 2.0 tonearm completely by myself, and I installed and aligned a Benz Micro Ruby 2 cartridge completely by myself. I set up the entire stereo by myself.

The new stereo is the first time I have outsourced any element of set-up. Prior to this new stereo I did it myself for over 20 years.

Ron has brought in hired help for all those basic tasks.

I have posted and written consistently that I think fine-tuning one's system the final 10% or the final 5% of the way to achieve the sound of which our components are capable requires professional assistance for most of us. Choosing to outsource some elements of set-up has nothing to do with my ability to assess and report on the sound of audio systems in a way which is understandable and useful for readers and subscribers.

Keep telling yourself that. You might begin to believe it.

diplomacy is not to be confused with hypocrazy
why do insist on being such a schmock?
you don´t necessarily need to write all your thoughts

Thank you for the defense, but it is not necessary.

Unlike Carlos, I have no ego about any of this. It's virtually impossible to offend me on audio topics.

I have nearly infinite patience for dealing with people like Carlos. My policy is to keep my composure and ignore the obnoxiousness and respond soberly to anything which I can interpret as a question.

Eventually their own writing shows other members what they really are, without me in any way lowering myself to their level of discourse.

It's members like Carlos that the IGNORE button is a very effective tool. He thrives on insulting people. If every one ignores him, he would have no one to insult. He's been on mine for a very long and it is only some reader comments today about him that had me reading the last few pages of posts.

I can be very technically competent without actually designing stuff from ground up
I´ve built ss and tubes amps, dacs, built up speaker systems etc
when it coms to subs I leave that to a man I really admire and he´s been more than keen to do custom designs for me
actually next monday we´re doing a shootout here between some 18 transmission line subs that he believes might match my horn subs

So, insulting people is an acceptable forum behavior?

I admire your calm patience
I´m very intolerant to bad behaviour

It's not but I am not a moderator....if you are all annoyed by Carlos' posts, report the posts and let the mods deal with it. For me, I find his behavior obnoxious and I have no desire to read anything by him. His tag line under his signature needs to be read by himself while looking in the mirror. I have yet to see any thread in which Carlos participates where it does not inevitably crap out like this one

The truth is that ignoring me or me signing off and taking my knowledge elsewhere does not change the facts. I’m not sure why so many feel offended by what I post. I usually back up my posts with facts or supporting evidence. I have transitioned the majority of my online activity to a forum where its members do not feel threatened and who are very knowledgeable. Every now and then I get sucked into a conversation on here. If you don’t respect or appreciate my knowledge and what I bring to the table then that is easy for me to take care of and I simply will not contribute here. I deal with hard facts in real life. If a cotton candy fantasy world is more to the groups liking have at it. I don’t want any part of a scene where facts and truths need to be subdued.

For all the YT videos today, here is one that might be a propos to the sentiment members are sharing.....report the offensive posts and use the ignore. When you reply to him all you are dong is engaging him in his superiority complex

Greatest fool of all is the one who fools himself

I refer the gentleman to a post made previously within this thread …. And for the record I made no reports on this matter https://www.whatsbestforum.com/thre...e-rooms-systems-of-all-time.38181/post-941647
