Had to make sure there were no issues before I took all the time to put it back in the car... well worth the investment!! Terrifying to watch in person however!
You did the spannering yourself?

Btw I've edited my post to flesh out the spec. Had to get a callback from my parts guy, having done three cars' worth of engine swaps with forged stroker kits, couldn't remember some of the evo details!

Seems like you are running a conservative state of tune?
Given the engineering you've done

I'm not really one for show n shine, so i had to take some pics today.
I'm particularly happy with the stance since we replaced the rims with forged WedSports with a better offset, and added 20mm spacers all round. You'll note the 17 inch rims, and high riding stance? The roads around here are savage, potholes are unreal, i need all of the suspension travel plus nice high sidewalls to flow with all that the roads throw at us. All throughout, this is a machine built with those conditions in mind. My aim was to build the quickest possible point to point machine on rough roads.

Exactly why I owned a Lotus...lots of twisty mountain roads in Switzerland...
May i ask, which Lotus?
I have a real soft spot for the v6 exige. When i was tearing my hair out earlier in this build, the car i considered signing my life away for was a low mileage dealer car, a sport410, iirc.
More than any other brand, they are reputed to work on rough British b roads, keeping compliance where others are too stiff.
If only our Scottish roads, epic as they are, were built properly...like those in Switzerland.
Here they seem to have a two year lifespan before they begin to break up

Tommi Makkinen, ha! In the mid 90s we had an office near Heathrow UK. Was driving down the A308 near Ashford Middx, speed up a little on the dual carriageway as there appeared to be a Mitsubishi rally car up ahead. Pulled alongside and sure enough an Evo. Tommi Makkinen's Evo with Tommi driving! Very odd

It has a foldable license plate

no more camshaft in the engine, no transmission really innovative.
that thing really revs fast almost like no other car:eek:
I forgot no flywheel rev from 800rpm to 8500rpm in 0.2sec

my first car i drove was my Dad's 1960 Desoto. big wings, with a 413 with cross ram intake manifold and push button shifting. a stormer. fastest car at my High School which i proved a few times.
my first car that i owned was a 61' Triumph TR3B in 1969. a knuckle dragger. owned it for 6 weeks and then it got stolen, never recovered. still have the title.
my favorite early car i owned was a 66' Jag XKE 4.2 convertible with covered headlights. i rebuilt the engine. then met my wife, got married, sold the Jag, and got in the car business, that was in 1974.

since then been involved in selling about 3000 new and used cars a year x 48 years so far. loved them all.....when they sold. so 144,000 cars.

in 2016 i did buy a Porsche 991 CS2 and owned it for 18 months. scratched that itch. amazing car. if i did buy another toy/trophy car again it would be a 911. if i don't buy a boat when i retire i could see maybe a GT3 might be nice.
Mike, I learned to drive a stick in a 1966 Jaguar XKE 4.2 with covered headlights. Had the removable hardtop for winter use. I was 7 years old when my Dad purchased it new. It was black with a red interior. He drove it as a daily driver until he sold it in 1989. He traded it on a very low milage Rolls-Royce, which he gave to me 10 years ago. That car is not going anywhere as he past away 2 years ago and it has too many memories of RROC shows and events we traveled to over the years.

Yes, I do wish I still had the Jag.

P.S. Funny the Rolls is the same color combination as the Jag, black/red.

My most influential car was a 2002 Mazda Miata that was setup for cup racing specs. Lots of time in the mountains and a little SCCA ST autocross events. I still miss that car as I've moved on to a MB SUV :(

In order of purchase:

'69 Triumph GT6+
'71 Mustang Mach 1
'74 Lotus Europa
'79 Mazda RX7
'78 Audi Fox GTI
'79 BMW 320i
'85 Merkur XR4Ti
'84 Jeep Cherokee
'82 Porsche 928S (Euro)
'91 Cadillac STS
'92 Nissan Pathfinder
'57 Austin Healey 100-6
'00 Audi A6
'96 Toyota Land Cruiser
'04 Subaru Forester
'10 Mini Countryman All4
'06 Aston Martin DB9 Volante
'18 Mazda CX-9

I loved the Lotus Europa, the Mini Countryman, and the Aston DB9 the most (although the Triumph GT6 was my first car and had many young man adventures, it was a nightmare).
I disliked the Mustang and the Merkur.
The gray-market 928S was very cool at the time.
And the DB9 will still be in my garage when I die.

I've raced many cars over the years but my favorite was the 2017 GMX5 Cup Car. Here is a photo from the day I picked it up at Long Road Racing in Statesville, NC. Miss that car big time.
