LampizatOr Horizon - Tube Rolling Paradise

as much as I loved the SRS 551 it was just a little too much for my system . I still think it is a marvelous tube but listening to the Telefunken E55L finally landed me and my system in Valhalla
Valvo G2504 solid plate----rectifier
Telefunken EF802---------signal tubes
Telefunken E55L-----------power tubes
TP adapters from Laszlo (takacz75 here along with his amazing silver wire star grounding

In fact for anyone interested I have a matched quad of SRS551 with TP adapters that I will sell. These tubes as stated were wonderful for my ears but just a little too much of everything

It's a very rare variant - open plate and sliver plange to plates . Not the normal gz32. This variant has something quite special. Compared to the 2504 - this gz32 variant has more midrange and more details.

I am loving it so far!
 
The more it breaks in the more I fall in love with this little rectifier. It sings gloriously.
This configuration is so stellar. 802s in center, e55l pentodes and this little beast that sings…. Bliss, pure bliss….

Listening to Ben Webster now. He is in the room and so is his soul.

For the "normal" audiophile it would be very helpful if people on this forum would not talk in cryptic abbriviations but use proper names and branding of the tubes they are talking about. Adding which tubes would need what kind of adapter would be helpful, too.

Sorry. I forget the brands and all the numbers, etc. I am not that great at remembering such details.. Adapters are from TP and so are tubes, so you can contact him for details. Tube names are like camera models: too many letters and numbers to remember. The GZ32 recti is from Ian. I also don’t know the brand.

They both read this so perhaps they might add the details my bubble brain is missing.

Thanks Steve! Grounding cables for adapters are also TP, which I also recommend as they made a difference in my system

I use them as well. He has two variants. I use the Ohno OCC single silver strand

Me too. I did some A/B and found that they work very well. I have them going to small Japanese grounding boxes. Do you use the grounding lug or have a grounding box?

I am not familiar with an "open plate" tube.
Perhaps a picture?
 
Ill try to take a brighter one. Wanted to get that glow.
 
@steve williams cannot thank you enough for your recommendation to Laszlo adaptors.

I am literally in shock what it did out of the gate to my Poseidon. The bass sophistication, the clarity, the tonality, nuance and delicacy all improved.

Looking forward to next 95 hours.

Now you need his single stranded extruded silver wire star ground. That’s the icing on the cake
