About to get Allnic H-8000 DHT

Hello,
Then we will make the same experience very likely soon.
My H-8000 is scheduled for shipping also already.
I have owned the H-5000 some years ago and it was already very good, especially after swapping the rectifier tubes.
I hope we both will enjoy the H-8000.
Regards
Axel
What tubes did you find were best with the H-8000 DHT? P.S. this is Enrico in Italy, I purchased your black Allnic H-8000 DHT

hi Enrico, your information doesn’t list your speakers. Just asking as you have two of my favourite components, the Lampi and the Allnic phono, and live in the land of good food

I may have to update the list as I don’t remember when I did so last, but my speakers are Sonus Faber Extrema from the 90’s.

in my h8000 i use the telefunken rs242 and the marconi hl2. the hl2 is a bit bigger than normal diameter though so the noise shield has to be remade but not too hard

How do the new Allnic 242 compare to the KR 242?

Do all the H-8000 phono stages have the silver SUT, or is it something that came just with later units? Do you know in which years?

I have just read today, that the production of the H-8000 DHT should stop in this year, 2024. Even if this was communicated some months ago, I am sad to hear that after 5 years of production this product should go.

Hey Bonzo,

Hope you are well. I have a question for you if you can help. I heard it’s best to run a cable straight from the cartridge through the Tonearm to connect to the Allnic and I was also told to connect to the Allnic by RCA not XLR as it prefers RCA. Can you help me understand better. Thank you

Not Bonzo, however, the Allnic uses internal transformers to "create" a balanced signal. The sad truth is they sound horrible. Not recommended from my perspective. The RCA connections are preferable.

On a single conductor from cartridge to the Allnic input- sure preferable. However, lots of designs use din connectors or RCAs as intermediaries and they're ok. Good if you can do it , otherwise it will not necessarily change your world.

Good Luck.

That’s what I heard. Thank you for the confirmation. I’ll use the RCA.

Cheers
