I totally concur with oldvinyl. Do not use any cleaner or enhancing products on/in the sockets. If you must 99% IPA only and you can use soft rubber dental flossers that will fit in the small sockets. I just spent the weekend cleaning my sockets and tube pins. Cleaners in sockets can track high voltage and cause current paths that may never be able to be reverted without replacing the sockets.wishing you the best possible outcome for the surgery
be careful to use Caig sparingly and remove any excess - CRC electronics cleaner spray can be used on the tube sockets
I only use Caig on tube pins since it can be easily removed, I do not use it on the sockets (it has a red oily film)
For tube pins in order of operation:
1.Yamaha green instrument polishing cloth to polish the pins. There are other knock offs out there- just the Yamaha.
2.With a separate microfiber cloth 99% IPA to clean pins
3.With a separate microfiber cloth wipe on very little of Caig pro gold 5% and wipe off
For really miserable pins you can start with a fiberglass cleaning pencil then polish with the Yamaha cloth.
For sockets:
1. Scrub with 99% IPA until no oxidation is visible on dental flossers.
