American Sound, "The Absolute Nothing"

Thanks, but I don't claim that I'm knowledgeable, I'm learning.

A smartphone app can provide an idea of wow & flutter, even if it’s not entirely accurate. AM remains the best wow & flutter measuring tool available despite its inherent limitations. I believe we covered the reasons for this in the “Calibration Devices” section.
This is my reading from the iPhone app re Goldmund ref ( 35yr old ). It’s the original belt, however I do keep it as clean as I can along with the pulleys. The TT is able to adjust + - .

In order to access wow and flutter we need to see its spectra. The wow and flutter weighted values can be extremely misleading - they are used mainly to control purposes, not to access quality.

For example see this picture from HIFI NEWS - a poor spectra IMO.

Very impressive! If it’s a new iPhone, it's among the best measurements. If it’s an older iPhone model, the actual measurement might be higher.

An old belt—provided it hasn’t deteriorated—is usually better than a new one. A new belt tends to perform worse until it’s fully run in, which can take months or a year. The same principle applies to oiling the bearing. New oil must be the correct type recommended by the manufacturer and applied in the right amount to ensure adequate braking. For these reasons, I wouldn’t consider changing the belt if I were you.

I cannot say for certain but usually (not always, usually) Android results are a little bit less accurate. I have no proof of that. IMHO if you use a new model iPhone the result will be higher (worse) than what you get now. I think %0.05 is still great for TD124. I used to have one too.

I think 0.07% is more realistic, is factory spec.;)
but which other turntable achieves this after so many years that impresses me more than the number.

iPhone 14
I have no intention of changing the belt.
Re levelling the platter
Quite critical as we all know. As the seasons change so do the foundations of our buildings concrete or suspended timber, best check every month or sooner and level to best you can. Mine is very audible if slightly out , easy to hear. The TT has a bubble level on a pillar which acts as an indication only, if things are out a little, quite handy although you hear if not as should be.

around 60 yrs.
really good cartridges congrats. I once had an ffss mk2 unfortunately I broke it coilwire. From dynamic view so it was the best thing money could buy. arlt van den hul wanted it and in return I got a new ddt special for free. At the time I thought it was a very good deal, today I would have had it repaired youthful sins.

Way back in the 1970s, I had a 4RC and a Mk V. I loved the sound especially the bass and dynamics. I thought I was a Decca fan for life but moved on to other cartridges when they needed replacement. Probably a mistake.
