I have never seen AN any version all the way through. I think I have seen it all in bits and pieces but could never get into/appreciate the movie. Its been decades since the last attempt, maybe time to try one more time. Deerhunter was another one.

It's only one hour and half long, and it's excellent.
It also might help to motivate you in watching the film in its longer version...Redux.
For me all the material Francis has accumulated for this film, and everything related is worth learning more about this film director's vision on that period time and his interactions with his actors and film crew. It's important film culture history from one of the cinema maestro.
If I was a University professor teacher on Cinema History and Culture, Apocalypse Now I wouldn't hesitate to analyse with my students and peers.
