Audiophile Ethernet Jack (for the wall)

Is there an audiophile ethernet jack for the wall being made yet? We use Cat 6 cable, but it of course is terminated at the jack. The jacks I’ve seen aren’t too high of quality … normally no shielding, etc.

I recognize my implementation will not work for many users, but I don't like and do not use wall jacks. I use the small "brush plates" to cover the small hole in the wall that passes ethernet and fiber cable.

I measure and pull sufficient cable to reach components, and for lines I'm not using, I coil them up.

Since time and labor is almost always more expensive than cable, I pulled Single Mode and Multimode fiber, Cat6 and a custom unshielded, cryo-ed ethernet cable at the same time.

I have been back on the Cat6 for six months or so, but I was on SM fiber for over a year, to good end. I was able to move among the four options easily, since they were already pulled.

Again, not for everyone, but it is manageable in many instances to avoid the jack scenario for our audio applications.

There are a myriad of shielded Ethernet jacks available from numerous electronics parts suppliers. Don't have the "audiophile" stamp on them, though. They are designed to work in high-noise environments so should do the job.

A quick search yields consumer versions for $5~$10 and commercial versions from places like Mouser Electronics from $20 to $100+ with full seals.
