Cable Designer Roundtable

Not a roundtable in sight!

Just a bunch of isolated marketing statements.

Didn't TAS do some real roundtables about a decade ago? (maybe one on Class 'D' amps)

They also did a test where "audiophile" cables were tested against Radio Shack cables.

The results were equivocal.

"They?" Are you referring to the Stereo Review tests? If so, they've been debunked many times over the years.

Hifi Critic, the advertisement free british audio magazine, had a very interesting series on cables along several of their initial issues, starting with Cable Controversies part 1 - Martin Colloms begins the first of a multi-part investigation into the Physics and Sonics of hi-fi cables. Several other authors also debated the subject in forthcoming articles.

Unfortunately, the articles are copyrighted and are not freely accessible. http://www.hificritic.com/ci/vol1_no1.aspx

Myles, it was too long ago for me to remember who it was.

Designer - that's the right word to use. Do they also do curtains?

Is this thread going to end up like all the rest of the cable threads on WBF? As in all of the people who have $2 to $10 cables telling us they sound just as good as expensive well-built cables that are well-shielded and use really good connectors?

Most likely or you can go to Computer Audiophile and they all agree $$$$ cables sound better than $10 - $50 cables..

Just make sure to include Kurt from Blue Jeans Cable the next time you have a roundtable.
