Do people from the EU going to the U.K. need to get their passport stamped? If so, I would imagine this is how they would stop these people from entering the US. I believe this is what was done initially in Asia (couldn’t go from say China to Korea then to the US).

No, I don't mean that people in EU could travel here. I mean that they could infect people in the UK and then those people would infect Americans.

Also, I believe Americans can still travel to the EU and then return, potentially with an infection. Why not just shut down international travel for 2-4 weeks and get rid of this thing. Anything that is done is going to hurt people economically. I think more drastic moves will limit the time period over which this will occur.

I thought this was a good idea..... I know five people will disagree, but it might be useful. I will do it.

I don't think this is even real. I have seen this posted in several places, each attributed it to someone different. Plus, I have not heard the CDC or WHO provide this advice.

I believe Americans can travel to the EU but not be allowed back in for 30 days if they do. I would assume there would be screening on the way back in. I agree, shut it all down. Then there would really be an uproar.

I don't think there are 30 day restrictions on coming back. Here is what was said:

Pence then announced that "Americans coming home will be funneled through 13 different airports," and would be screened at those airports.
"Then we're going to ask every American and legal resident returning to the United States to self-quarantine for 14 days," he said.

The problem with this plan is that people can come back without symptoms and infect other people. People are being asked to self-quarantine. That doesn't mean they have to and many won't.

I agree, let's just go all in on restrictions now and benefit later.

Like I said many will disagree.....no biggie and it might not be real, but does anything said sound harmful to do? Just ignore it please, it's for anyone that it might sound lie a good idea to do, like I do.

I think it is dangerous because people could use that advice to self-test.

I’m watching the news now and it was mentioned you can go and not come back for 30 days. I guess there’s still confusion out there.

Only on WBF will drinking water and breathing be controversial!

I know, very dangerous stuff:) It's ok, I like the idea of taking deep breaths early in the morning and seeing if anything feels strange, but that's just for me. Not sure about the water thing but I like drinking water during the day so it's a good reminder.

Bob, give me a break. Did I say that drinking water and breathing was a bad idea? No. What you posted included doing a breathing test which, if passed, indicated you did not have an infection. That's what I highlighted very clearly. Hey, it is just my opinion. Give all the advice you want.

We read and understood the intent differently. You of course are probably right.

I just interpreted it as a small self check to do in the morning. I would never have thought anyone would view it as a test instead of an actual Corona test. But if you thought it was such then many other might as well. So, it's gone, but again, I will do it and think it's a great idea.....but just for me.

My country, Denmark officially closed down last night ! Effective 2 weeks.
All public servants in every position sent home. Parlament closed all sittings
except emergency handlings. Only police and healthcare/elder care operating
at full capacity. University’s, higher education closed from this morning.
Public schools kindergartens closed from monday urging parents to keep children home from today if possible, and not leave children with grandparents, the most vulnerable. Advising no gatherings bigger than
100 people (down from 1000 Friday) advising all restaurants, bars nightclubs
to close down now ( most did voluntarily last nigh, no customers), with temporary emergency law mandating it being voted on in the coming days.
Private business advised to work from home if possible. Avoidance of public
transportation if possible and increase of capacity to give more room
between people who use it. This all to try to flatten out the curve, so the health care system can handle new cases, and maintain all usuals activity.
We went from 10 cases last week to 651 today, most from skiing vacations in
northern Italy . Time for lots of music, Netflix and red wine

At least Denmark is taking it seriously, although going from 10 to 651 in such a short time only means that there are a lot of infected people out there.

That is the assumption.until now
tracking and isolation of affected and their contacts have been the
remedy. Now trying to slow down
the unstoppable spread is the goal.
On the plus side, no fatalities yet.
