I'm hearing the news lately and struggling to figure out why this Covid-19 thing is being taken so seriously.

Yea I looked at the spread and death rate, but somehow the conspiracy theorist in me wants there to be more.

So I came up with my own theory, and found nothing to support it, although it's been a theme in several Sci-Fi movies (Children of Men).

Heathrow is going to be a nightmare as every European travelling to the US is going funnel themselves through there to beat the ban......

I hope there is a mandatory stay in the UK of at least 30 days in order to deter this and if there isn't there should be one.

This is much more serious than you guys think. You will see in a week time.

I have already changed how my office works (I have 15 people in the office). I have divided my emploees into two teems - one is in the office and the second team is working from their homes (I cannot send everyone home, unfortunately). The teams change every week.

This is what we are doing also, but we are doing 2 weeks in the office and 2 weeks at home.

Just to make things worse, there have been deaths from Covid-19 that were misdiagnosed as influenza in the US.

This means it's very likely that Covid-19 was transported from Wuhan to the US before the Chinese let the world know about it, and it's difficult to determine exactly how many folks thought they had the flu when it was really Covid-19.

This virus is being tackled by various governments and is inherently political. The president of the United States just presented a European travel ban that has no bases in science.

There are many posts about the Chinese government that were not deleted. So is the rule no US politics? I'm confused.

True, I think the rules need to be relaxed a bit, but otoh if it devolves into a political blame fest then all it will do is cause animosity. I'm not sure bias would allow this to be prevented, but idk... no great solution here.
