Entreq Tellus grounding

Hey Guys,

Fantastic news! The simply Nordic farmer with lousy English who stumbled on the idea and tries to sell Detlof for a fool just got back to me again :) I have been exchanging emails with him this last few hours explaining the problem, giving him a photo of the rear panel and also letting him know many Rega products are made like this (it is at least the entire "half-size" series - possibly even more). So they are going to make me a special one-off cable to work especially with my Rega CD player! It will be the Eartha Konstantin with a different design RCA connector so as to work with the recessed type of jack that the Regas use! Wow, talk about excellent service.

He asked me to contact the distributer so it can be arranged. I don't think I have ever had dealings with any other audio company who is so customer-focussed, though Wireworld have been great with bespoke one-off cable designs as well I might add). It probably helped that I already own two boxes and two cables and know exactly what I want. And perhaps they don't want to have issues with the Rega brand...but even so, highly impressed.

I am sure all of us would like to understand how everything that delivers benefits actually works, but I long since gave that up and accepted that their are lots of areas where my knowledge is and is likely to remain limited. So in those areas I stick to an old adage that the proof of the pudding is in the eating and spare myself a lot of frustration. Improves my quality of life!
I'm not sure why you choose to single out Entreq's marketing when the same applies to many other audio producers. It has always been there and I can't see it ending.
My understanding is that PO's background is as an engineer which would make sense and I really don't think it's appropriate to keep referring to him as a Swedish farmer with all the implicit implications that has.
His products work very well as you have clearly acknowledged so just enjoy them

Barry, in calling him a farmer, I was quoting PO himself. He of course said this with a wink and I took this up, including his wink.
Unfortunately I cannot find this video. But you are right, flogging just his sales pitch is unfair. I should list all the others I have in mind. Having read Dave's reply, that of Ralph and those he reffered to in this thead again, has somewhat " soothed the savage breast" and I will, as you say, enjoy what I hear.

Thanks Detloff.
That is much more becoming of you.

Thanks FF and for your earlier post concerning PO's response.
Your experience is one of many similar experiences I am aware of.
Truly excellent service which we should all be grateful for and applaud.

Barry, becoming or not, at least now we know a bit more why PO's stuff works. Wished PO would have told us in the first place.

Well I think it is Detloff and if I've correctly worked out your former profession you will know that perception is all.
Enjoy the compliment and the Entreq enhanced music.

i will do both. thank you for your charming response, Barry:)

I felt being patronised and that gets my back up. Peace.

Yes peace be with us. And I have to apologise. Although I did actually read the whole post (truly, yes), I was so excited by the communications with Entreq that the fact you already had some gear glossed over me. Brain fade. As for farmers, it is important to realise that without them, we would all be living off Brussels Sprouts picked from a veggie patch in our back garden. So you could arguably say they have the most important job in the Universe.

Yes, farmers and musicians!

sound is cleaner for sure... will leave in for a few days and report back.

I suppose a cheap Chinese copy was bound to emerge but surely something for a new thread rather than piggybacking the Entreq thread

Go for it Spaz. This market is now sufficiently big enough to stretch from Troy Emperor at the top at $80k, theru Entreq in the mid mkt, to Chinese clones at the bottom end.
Looks like good 'ol fashioned coal in here. Shame the mkt isn't QUITE big enough to keep our mining industry having just finally fully closed down.

Look at the picture, it seems they put the manufacturer's site on the cover. What does yours say?

That's one angry looking croc!:eek::p

Well Spaz, you've tentatively popped yr grounding cherry. How does it feel not to be a virgin anymore?
Is it a cold experience like some of the best sex can be, or are you warm and fuzzy having found romantic love?
My advice would be to consider sticking with the clone grounding box, but find perhaps better ground wires, maybe all copper or a copper/silver mix.
Then consider an upgrade to a basic Entreq Tellus box, I believe they start around £300-400, and can ground a couple of components, so about £600 for maybe cdp/dac and preamp, w/two ground leads.
Of course, the costs go up as you traverse the Entreq range.
YMMV widely on all of this, Sablon beta ground cables were a little too astringent, not the same synergy as all-Entreq ground box/leads.

Entreq more than many other things are prob very system/grid dependent. It's a VERY good thing that you don't feel the need to spend on Entreq. There's always Peter Popoff's Miracle Spring Water to annoint yr rig. Pour it on, blow the lot up, send him the bill

No Spaz, I'm happy as Larry ("shut that door!") w/Entreq configured as is. No contaminated Chinese coal for me, thank you very much. For me, I've had real mixed (aka negative) rsult going beyond Silver Tellus to Atlantis, but my system has had an almost total overhaul in the last two yrs when I first stocked up w/Entreq that stuff like Poseidon and Olympus Tellus are due for demo, and so further SOTA grounding a major reappraisal.
There's a STACK of cash I'd like to direct twds Shun Mooks, so more Entreq will have to be truly convincing.
My GF is a diamond junkie, and now she knows the each Mook has a lovely 24 Carat rock at it's heart, she has a big smile on her face.
