FM Acoustics amps

Wow, what a disappointing story (Wizard's one).

He could have ended it within minutes/hours simply by sending an image to Mike or Steve (if he doesn't trust Mike enough) via email. I can understand ppl security concerns, but noone insisted on those images to be published. He had chosen to disappear instead.

The guy is from Norway. His blog started as a thread on norwegian forum:
http://www.hififorum.nu/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=54678&whichpage=1

He used to post there as cybwiz.

IMO his blog became popular enough, that manufacturers started sending him unsolicited images / press releases. Afterall, this is a free advertising for them.

He is certainly one of the best contributors here. We miss him and we hope he does come back soon. He is in another forum now.

Asking for proof is simply ridiculous and insulting. Believe what you [anyone] may, but don't insult.

+1000
I'm 1000% with you on this. If one thinks what another writes is bs, just disregard it and move on. It smells fishy to me to do otherwise.

There was a legit reason to ask for proof. What is more, Norway is a small country/hifi market (Norway has a population of 5 million; to give you a proper perspective - New York alone has a population of over 8.1 million !), so it is not possible that no dealer/distributor in Norway has no knowledge of his very existence.

When faced with a question he was not able to answer, he choose the easiest option - to run away.

Agree, especially knowing Mike's ethics - nothing would have gone past him if Wizard asked.

Cheers

Spot on. The biggest WBF FAIL to date!

I agree

I sent an email to him yesterday asking him to come back to WBF. Say what you will the man was a wealth of information and pictures.

Sadly, I suspect we have seen the end of him. I sent him an email several months ago when this all came down and he never responded. I followed it up yesterday with another email but not surprisingly have gotten no response.

He has also removed the "WBF"link on his website

It is cases such as this one that for me illustrates how this hobby puts ones ego on the line above all else.

For me I have no idea whether his was a prevaricated story about the DartZeel amplifier but rather how it all came down. I have gotten countless PM's from members all wanting him back again with none (well one) suggesting anything but a strong desire to have him back as a member.

A wise man once said that if we all hung out our dirty laundry we would all be rushing home.

As I reflect on what happened my biggest regret is that I didn't step in before it was too late and " alea iacta est".

IMO we lost a very good member here at WBF

I would suggest that for all of you reading this who share the same feeling as me, you should yourselves reach out to Wizard by email and indicate your feelings to him

Spamming him may just get him more mad at us.... his blog is a wealth of information.

When I tried to get better pictures of the Viola Labs Crescendo preamp, his blog had better pictures than the company itself!!

I too one miss his contributions.

welcome back !

I have never heard FM acoustics, how does it compare to Viola Labs or Cello ?
is it this kind of open sound, free, effortless with high definition ?

I was very impressed discovering a couple of months ago and hearing sice a couple of times since 2 monos Cello Encore 350 with the preamp Cello Encore Line,
I imagined that maybe FM acoustics would be in this kind of style ??

I find Viola Labs also very impressive, the preamp Viola Cadenza belongs to the best I have ever heard (openness, extremely precise placement of the musicians in the space) I don't understand why so few people are talking about this brand.

I wasn't able to appreciate Soulution the few times I have heard it ... but everybody is talking about ...
