1811 with its special transformer loves to work with peak power - it can deliver up to 5000 watt in 2 ohms.
The power its limitless when 1811 is connected to the wall with blue 230V 32A connector. Even better with 63A.
Christian-The magic must be in the circuit design because one doesn't see anything special with the sheet metal work or the parts used in FM gear as I have previously talked about. However, there are lots of people who have heard and/or owned FM gear and sing its praises so there has to be something there. And a few of those people are on this forum including Gary Koh who has nothing but great things to say about FM gear.
No, I get the zip ties...apparently the edge on the cut sheet metal case is sharp hence the zip tie protection. I know the cost of living is high in Switzerland...you would think they could afford the labor to file down the sharp edge and drop the zip tie.
It would be interesting if Mr. Wayne could provide some details of his current system in his profile so we could have some context with regard to his equipment sound quality opinions.

I certainly wasn't implying the proverbial equipment pizz fest. Just want to get a better context of your opinions based on your current system experience. That is all.

Personally I luv the understated look. Looks a lot classier than a lot of the macho amps around. Thicker less resonant top plate would be even better. Would love to hear a FM amp.
One regret I have was selling my FM acoustics 122 phono stage quite a few years back.
I'm glad to know your stereo is better than mine. I have never made any claims for how good my system is, but I have always shared what components make up my system since the day I joined this forum so people can judge for themselves. I'm not hiding my gear from anyone. It's there for all to see, criticize, and poke fun at.
