I saw an auction on AudiogoN that got me thinking - what about you?

"This is a special promo, all profits will go towards toys for our baby."

That is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;)

It's gotta be a spoof.

Is that Dr. Steve on that picture?

But let's be humoristic now for a moment.
This box, why is it sqared and not rounded?
Because if it was it wouldn't be called a box!

I like the dots design on the front though, but no way I'll pay a thou for it!

By the way Angela,
how the heck are you stumbling on such amazing stuff from the imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus?

The interesting thing though, Bob, reading the review, is that this is exactly the sort of audible effect that the sort of tweaking that I do has on the sound: there's more than one way to skin a cat! I have my suspicions as to what the unit is and does, but still haven't a firm enough handle on everything that matters to sound to be able to say with confidence something definite about it. Certainly the people at lessloss have a good handle on what influences sound quality, so I would be quite certain it has an audible effect in most cases.

Overall, this device is "another brick in the wall" of getting techniques for making good sound reproduction happen on board; one day it will all fall into place and people will understand in a proper, engineering, rational sense what's going on when people use all these funnies ...

Frank,

You might be surprised here, but Bob (me) read the article. ...Most of it.

And to be totally and perfectly honest with you, I was simply wayyyyyyyyy overwhelmed.
I didn't have what it takes to venture any further into the deep abyss of trouble waters over the dark moonlight of daytime.
Simply put, I just gave up!

For me, good sound quality is improved in the music recording itself.
Everything or anything else is just cheap whiskey. ...Secondary, you know...

And what this guy is doin' (I fully respect by the way), is even more secondary, in Bob's book (my book).
The amount of time and search and exploration and research and technical vibro/aereo scientific testing of all atoms and molecular particles of the ozone layer plus the pollution over our industrial cities, could be better spent towards improvements into the music recordings themselves and the perfectionalism of the physical gear like the microphones for example, and also the technics of the artist playing his instrument, and the plunging of his art into his deep soul, so the musical performance itself can benefit us all.

Simply put, the essence starts at the soul of the artist, the musician, the singer, the orchestra, the conductor...

*** You can use your [Translate] feature from your google's toolbar. But I really doubt that it would convey my message exactly the way it was intended. There is simply no way. But at least you'll get the general idea, just without the melody.

I read the article awhile back myself, Bob. I too, was overwhelmed. By the smell of BS.

“...acts upon the electromagnetic radiation"

"I continually find myself stopping in my tracks, noticing nuances and details and ambiance I don't recall, basking in a sense of presence and spaciousness that is delightful and surprising. There is a crystalline clarity about the highs, and bass feels more accurate and substantial. Listening is relaxed and easy, never fatiguing, and very satisfying. Clarity, clarity, clarity."

You can spend a obscene amount, $4000 or more,or you can spend maybe $50 and get the same results. Everything this man is hearing is indicative of EMI/RFI mitigation in his electronics.

Although the pseudo science shown is this site is almost childish and borderline on the ridiculous, there is nothing that we could easily call fraudulent, only not relevant to sound reproduction.

IMHO , the more disturbing issue is that although I do not believe that these Blackbody's Black Body devices can change the sound of my system, their developer could tell the same about the cables I am using in my system, and I also would not be able to prove him that they really improve my system.

Anyway this site has a nice feature - the sellers enter the location of their clients in an interactive map. I could see that there are no people using his devices closer to 50 miles of my location - at less they should not be interfering with my sound! :)

Ouf! You're safe.

you know I first became "interested" in Roger because of RFI issues I was having. I had a pair of his Innersound Isis and had just moved into a new condo (just south of SF). Out back were huge towers and I was getting this AM hate jock coming through my speakers when nothing was on. The latest piece of gear that I had added was an EAD processor for HT. I called them and told them what was going on and they blew me off cuz I was a girl. The processor came with a pair of Tara Labs connectors to convert the unbalanced (back of EAD) to balanced. I asked if they were shielded and they poopoo'd me and said OF COURSE. As a last resort, I called Roger to ask for help. If you know him, then you know he will stop whatever he is doing to help. So step by step, we went through my system, until he asked if I had some aluminum foil. I went and got it and he told me to wrap it around the Tara Lab connectors on the back of the EAD. VOILA! the a-hole on the radio was GONE! He made me a pair of cables and I tossed the stupid Tara Lab connectors away. Having a technical background, he swooped me off my feet with all that talk and the rest, as they say, is history :)
