IMPORTANT WARNING ALERT! Audigon, my membership name has been hacked, check yours

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but I am selling my Zodiac Gold DAC on audiogon and have received two offers from different places in Russia, this being the most recent:

ul. Beskudnikovskii proezd 2 block 2 - 266, Moscow, Moscow 127247 (RU)

I have no idea of this is a scam or not but my warning bell went off since I got two different offers from Russia !!!

Do you think it is getting to the stage where you need to use a escrow service

Or, will many be pissed if you ask them to take a photo of the item and/or serial number with a paper dated today as proof that it is actually real?

Hi i have two expensive units for sale on Canuck Audio Mart and i have put both serial number in my ad, if you are ligit this should not be a problem, my email address and my phone number are also listed, there isn't much else to do to encourage potential buyers.

As long as they will be blocking any communication between users, the problem will only escalte. It all started after they blocked this feature (to increase their profit from success fees).

I had my account hijacked as well some 2 years ago, but at the time users still had the possibility to contact the seller, so I quickly discovered that my acount was hijacked after I got the first email with questions from another member.

But how does that protect the buyer if the sellers account has been hijacked? You still don't know who you are talking to.

There's also a pair of Focal Scala Utopia III speakers that is apparently another fraud.

Are you talking about the serial # or phone # ?

2 min phone call will tell you if you are talking with an audiophile or a scam artist from Nigeria.

I was selling $30k Avantgarde speakers for a friend on AudiogoN 6 months ago, someone from China was interested so I gave him my phone #, he called me, we had a nice 15-min chat, after which he wired me $30k without any problems.

Since the NEW Audiogon my account was also hijacked twice i am no longer a member of Audiogon to bad because it used to be a great site. ( before the changes )

-- I gave my phone number and address in the past, only to have my life hijacked!
...Some people are truly bad! ...Trust no one, in particular the ones who ask you for your phone number and address.

Some people are just sick, and they'll do anything to make your life miserable. ...Audiogon is no picnic.

While I can't stand the new Audiogon, I have, in the communications section when making an offer or trying to learn more about the product, provided my phone number so we could communicate directly.

They have relaxed communication restrictions; In my responses to offers, I simply tell the other party to email at username at domain dot com - spelled out like this, there is no problem.
