JackD201 - Almost Done

Jack-Your room looks beautiful. A work of art even if I may say so.

One of my goal in life is to have a room as beautiful as Jack's ... And as good sounding too. Congrats

And by the way.. Who were you trying to fool with that "audition"? You really thought the ML 1.2s would go back? ???

:D

I set them up with the new owners Sasha's while he wasn't home. When I heard them after they'd warmed up some, I knew they weren't coming home. Sad thing is my one and only pair of Valvos went with the deal. Back to Teles and Mullards for me! :D

The KRs are soon to be sent for home demo to be tried with AG Trios. I have a feeling they won't be coming back either!

Too neat for my tastes. Doesn't look lived in :) No extra cables or tubes lying around. Everything symmetrically arranged. Something is amiss here!

LOL! The wonders of getting the right framing for a shot, you don't see the toolboxes, cables and DACs on the floor!

The most extreme room in this regard goes to an MD who lives around my neighborhood. Small studio. Has practically all square inches of his space occupied by anything related to audio - tubes, wires, tester, amp, pre amp, tables, tonearms, cartridges (lots of them broken but he is going to repair them, acc to him) :D LPs, DIY parts and repair kits, you name it, it's all over the floor, shelf, and everywhere possible. I have to tippy toe when I walk around. And he has multiple speakers in 2 sides of the room and he actually listens to these things play. 1 round stool for his 'sweet spot'. He always tells me to be careful when walking around bec I might step on some old rare tubes!. :D And when I was backing out a bit to clear my space, I accidentally hit something and it fell, and he hollered: 'Hey! Watch it, those are my prized ribbon tweeters!' LOL :D

One of these days I should secretly snap a shot of his room. :D

Phil,

Good to go this PM. Mutha-load time Indiana!

I call Phil Indiana (as in Indiana Jones) for his knack for unearthing rare truly NM or sealed LPs particularly classical european pressings. ;)

Coincidentally, the IJ series is my all-time favorite series. The best for me is the Last Crusade. :)

Plus we all know where Larry Bird is from!

and where he is President of BB operations. Hehehehehe

Hehehe...I'm doing some 'presentation' and 'sales pitch' for Larry to replace Ainge. Problem is, I don't think Ainge would respond well to the idea of him getting fired. :D

Oh no you don't!!!!!!!

Had an opportunity to listen to 2 pair of KRs bi-amped into the VR9 IIs this pm and it was a revealing session. The KRs sound live, very transparent, almost piercing the bones of the instruments, so to speak, and have a beautiful mids to boot. The hybrid Lamms may have more bass control and more powerful dynamics but these KRs can sing too. Never heard such a live jazz album sound so good, and I'm talking about an original Columbia 6 eye Mingus Ah Um stereo LP. Awesome. As usual, Famous Blue Raincoat is a good vocal test and it sounded fabulous, specially after a speaker cable change. :) I look at the title of this thread and thought it should stay that way, Jack will be almost done until some new toys come along. They almost always do. :D

Behind are Mookie, John, Mark J., KJ, Mark P., Gary, Tim and Kenny. :D

Jack, I thought you missed out on Mugsy and Spud but they're with the Lamm hybrid team, I suppose. :D

LOL! Good one! Blue Tip Spud and Muggsy with a spare Earl! :D

That LP is simply incredible sounding as I have mentioned numerous times on this forum. I am so happy to own it in both 33 and 45 versions.
