That LP is simply incredible sounding as I have mentioned numerous times on this forum. I am so happy to own it in both 33 and 45 versions.
How do they compare?

I'm glad you like it to Jack. Ask Indiana Jadis to find me a near mint 6-eye copy!
Francisco-I have mixed feelings, but I will stick my neck out and tell you that I enjoy the 33 RPM version better. And having said that, my 33 RPM is not anywhere close to being an original pressing. I bought the 33 RPM version long before I bought the 45 RPM version. I bought the 45 RPM version based on how damn good the 33 RPM version sounded and thinking the special edition 45 RPM version would be much better. Most of the time, I prefer 45 RPM to 33 RPM recordings. I have said before that if we want to compare LPs to tape, that 33 RPM LPs would be equivalent to 15 ips 2 track tapes and that 45 RPM LPs would be equivalent to 30 ips tapes. That is a rough analogy, but I think there is some truth to it.
I'll keep you in mind, Mark.
I myself don't have one, yet. I relinquished my 'own' copy to Jack.
Phil-"What a guy" is all I have to say. I know you made Jack happy.
If you really want to hear it, find a mint 6 eye mono...
Don't get me started on collecting Mono carts too. Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
Mep- is the 45 you have a Classic Records or an Org issued one? I think it was released by both companies. I assume the 33 you like is a Classic. Now you guys are going to make me go hunting in my stacks- I can't even find records I know I own, let alone one I don't think I've seen on my shelves. But you never know... I have found 6 eyes I didn't know I had. That one would not be easy or cheap to find as an early Columbia.Francisco-I have mixed feelings, but I will stick my neck out and tell you that I enjoy the 33 RPM version better. I do think it would be cool to have a separate tonearm setup for playing mono LPs. I should have designed my plinth to accept two arms.

We've just been hit by the most rainfall on record and water has gotten into the listening room

Everything has been disconnected and eventually almost everything must come down. I am bummed but what I am going through is nothing more than an inconvenience compared to what millions of my countrymen are suffering.
We pride ourselves in our ability to bounce back, smiles on our faces. In a few months I hope to reseal the room with better engineered solutions and get the system singing again. In the meantime please join me in praying for those affected by the deluge.
