Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

I got it ;) . Yeah, beast.

I’m glad the VC goes up numerically with SPL on the Horizon. Our Baltic 4 is configured the opposite, which is not satisfying. Wouldn’t it ring hollow if Spinal Tap said their amps go all the way up to zero? Or would that be plus 1?

I wish there was some better relevance to the number 63. Is that the average age of a Horizon owner? A barely passing grade in undergraduate quantum physics? An unknown highway that hasn’t been revisited? Regardless, 63 is now etched on my retinas from the brightest object in my night view. If only there were 6 more clicks available for a more satisfying result.

If Lukasz were Musk we know that's what it would have been...

We already concluded moons ago that perfect volume setting would be 69  :D
We just need the secret 66 volume setting to go with that for the best SQ…

I am going to take some measurements my room, and I would like to use my laptop with REW (Room Eq Wizard) connected to a USB microphone and to the Horizon as the sound output.

Do I need a specific Windows driver, or is the Horizon a plug-and-play device?

@simorag that’s exactly how I measured my room, through the Horizon with REW and the driver that Lukasz linked (if that doesn’t work I might have a Lampi specific one somewhere) with UMIK-1 mic. Worked great!

Perfect, that's exactly the hardware and software I have at hand! Thank you for your feedback ;-)

In order to get full range response, I plan to connect a sub to the sub XLR out of the Lampi, to complement my LS3/5a monitors.

I already had REL G2s connected at line level from my amps, but that sounds like a good idea. I did get measurements with and without subs. Great way to objectively dial in sub levels. The whole process really helped me with the overall plan on approaching room acoustic treatment.

I'd like to inform you that I've just joined the club of lucky Lampizator Horizon owners, having just acquired one of these marvelous machines that Lukasz invented just for our audiophile pleasure. I must say, I can see why there's so much enthusiasm for this DAC, its reputation is well earned. I'm literally rediscovering all my favorite albums, the pleasure of classical music, a soundstage I never knew was possible, infinitely deep bass and sublime vocals. The combination with the Taiko extreme is simply marvellous, I think my quest for the perfect system is nearing its goal, and I'll be able to devote more time to music now :)
Here is a view of new upgraded system.
