They clearly beat my vintage Sylvania 6sn7These red base shuguangs were available normally about 2 years ago, then disappeared and never came back. I still prefer blue balls psvane by a small margin.

I don’t know the red one. I have these:These red base shuguangs were available normally about 2 years ago, then disappeared and never came back. I still prefer blue balls psvane by a small margin.
I have made approx. 6000 shipments, half DHL half UPS and nothing ever was stolen or lost, twice the packake was kicked around but thats a low percentage. I think very highly about both these companies. I may add maybe 5 000 purchased items from ebay - also always correct.
My order this week came in as number 50. To be delivered in September, probably. Thank god the Pacific isn´t so bad either!(...) The queue may get longer quickly...
My cat always demands the sweet spot too.The Horizon fanclub
IIRC the manual states that if you use a preamp it is advised that the full signal be used which mean "63". Thats where I keep mineCan the Horizon Vol Control be used in conjunction with a pre amp's vol control (as I used to do with the Pacific) or must the Horizon vol control be completely bypassed at 0db (#63 on nixies).
My thought being that if so, one could fine tune the DAC's gain and pre's vol control to find the sweet spot.
The vol ctrl is of the highest calibre and for sure it can be used to dial in the desired output. Too high signal will saturate the preamp and result in hardened sound. DEFINITELY use vol ctrlCan the Horizon Vol Control be used in conjunction with a pre amp's vol control (as I used to do with the Pacific) or must the Horizon vol control be completely bypassed at 0db (#63 on nixies).

Could you elaborate on that as it pertains to finding the sweet spot between DAC vol control and Pre vol control?Do not confuse level control with volume control.
