LDMS Server

There are two people I feel we're at the start
Paul is one
The other is audiophile
Also ted B was also always helpful back then too.

I haven't heard of that, I can't see it on Pang blog or online. Have you any details? Where did you here about that?
Haven't got a link, sorry. It was news I picked up on at the home of a Pang server user/Ares Cerat system.

I would assume huge majority of the population strolling around this forum has never heard about this music server but on the other hand, I for certain know that several of the esteemed members of the forum heard it and also posses it in their systems. Also LDMS as a brand has been participating quite intensively on the HiFi shows last year (Munich, Zurich, Athens, UK) so consumers are slowly but surely getting to know them. I've been introduced to Lukas when I jumped into LampizatOr ship and since we've been quite a lot in contact as he's been a really valuable source of help HiFi wise in general and of course digital source wise.
Having Auralic Aries Femto for quite some time I started to feel that this part of the chain is becoming a weak link and that it is the right time to move fw. Having a chance to hear the LDMS in @christoph system during one of our sessions last autumn, I made a decision to order LDMS with dedicated LPS.
Order was made primarily due to liking of what I've heard and secondly due to the fantastic post sales service he is offering (confirmed from several sides who already use LDMS).
After a long cold winter and with the spring finally coming, last Wednesday Lukas arrived to my place for a nice HiFi weekend with several other guys which was planned for months in advance and installed the long awaiting top model of his server. Entire process of installation went silk smooth - basically plug and play - installed the Roon on my tablet and voila - we've been in business and we could begin with listening sessions.
Before I jump to that, tech spec of the server I don't know and I did not ask - the only thing I know is that it can up sample if needed to DSD512 without any issue. It's Win16 Server based which is of course hard core moded for audio playback and the big portion of the secret sauce is there.
Sound wise honestly everything is just so much better that it's kind of difficult to describe or maybe just saying "so much better" explains it all. Dynamics, conveying of the emotions, soundstage, musician pinpointing, stage as a whole, decay, bass tightness and extension,... you name it - the improvement is there and not by small margin but rather significant.
Maybe things should improve further with some burn in but even if they stay as they are now I'm a super happy customer/owner of LDMS.

Thanks a lot Lukas!

How would you say the LDMS compares to similarly priced servers from Innuos, Antipodes, and Aurilac?

Auralic is just not the same league compared to LDMS (i had Auralic) for the rest of the pack Al has super extensive experience so his opinion you can consider as relevant. But again, for your system your ears are only relevant..

Almost 7 months passed since server was deployed and since working without one single glitch. As wizard was coming to HiEnd show in Zurich and to deploy few new servers in Switzerland I grasped a chance for a small cosmetics upgrade of the server as well as LPS and to me it it looks great now :).
Additionally I had one 8TB hdd installed internally to clear the clutter in front of the rack but probably the most important thing is that several more SW tricks were deployed which elevated the SQ even further. Things became more precise, vivid but at the same time keeping the foundation with a lot of "meat on the bones". Just wooow...8EFBB840-768C-45E7-A649-AF7AF3097AA3.jpeg235F266D-58F8-46BD-847F-A5BB3D35AF92.jpeg

Same experience here. Deployment of my LDMS has been a bit more complex and involved returning the unit to Lucas a few times for modifications / upgrades (the last one getting the same fantastic top-cover as Golum's). Am now extremely happy with the sound quality.

Friend of mine has acquired the LDMS Maximus music server form Lucas Audio Lab,
he has no time for the forum activity but has asked me to share the photos, so here come some shots from his listening room, most importantly he is Uber happy with sound quality and according to his statement; getting the server form Lucas has gave his system new spark of life, and brought back immersive musical enjoyment, sound stage has literally exploded providing right balance between detail extraction and maintaining musicality,
this is not his first music server, and he has trailed many top digital transports before purchase, but in his opinion, nothing came close in terms of musicality and probably more importantly with the digital, all nicely wrapped with fantastic after-sales support,

He owns the Maximus server equipped with the USB recloker and dedicated external CD Ripper and would recommend it to folks with no digital know-how as Lucas was able to train him and sort his home networking problem remotely,

Something I could vouch for myself, as this guy has spent countless hours fixing my own stuff

Got this fancy streamer + a 3R Master Time Blackstar Edition at the end of Octobre last year when the digital wizard himself came to Zurich. As I‘m not a tech guy, I can‘t refer a lot about specs. But as a music lover I definiteley confirm, that this combo paired with my GA sounds phenomenal and Lucas‘ support + service is outstanding.

https://www.lucasaudiolab.com/ – Highly recommended!!!41590709-0E0B-4082-BD11-E58437BE8866.jpeg484388A9-D2E2-4F9E-8D10-DC1473A77FEA.jpeg35D580A0-F935-40AA-9E0F-3C7F9DBC3EFF.jpegE734834C-ED4B-431C-8954-1E3CF44FC746.jpeg40A7AE55-D8FB-4E70-9258-6DC84F0D7698.jpeg7FEB1662-EBF6-47C4-822E-33EEAE5A988C.jpeg

Lucas Domansky ( https://www.lucasaudiolab.com/about/ ) was in our hood last week and did a complete software upgrade for three servers. The improvements are outstanding. I was more than convinced of mine before the upgrade and now it sounds top-notch.

The scale of sonic uplift for existing devices is unbelievable and undeniable. Yet another proof of how much the bundires can be pushed, resulting in faster, more organic and free flowing sound and +++ detailed yet naturally smooth like a good vinyl. All that without sacrificing the bass.

Feedback from my buddy Fabio: “Everything is better: timbre (very organic), speed, detail retrieval, imaging, contrast and dynamics”

=> If you have a LDMS ask Lucas to come by and do the magic for you.

=> If you’re in search of a streamer/server to play your files or streaming services like Tidal/Qobuz in upper end quality don’t miss to ask Lucas for your personal perfect solution.

Nice new DAC buddy by the way :)

Mine scheduled for end of the month upgrade too.

Lucas visited me last week to perform inter alia the upgrade to his server. He visited me on Tuesday afternoon as well as Wednesday morning. Indeed this (software) upgrade is very significant indeed! I experience inter Alia additional dynamics, transparency, serenity and smoothness. Furthermore, after replacing my NAS-box and adding some better quality plugs to the cable between my router and server I noticed a more solid foundation from which the music is presented with more explosiveness.

It is now the third time Lucas visited me in order to service his server, this apart from a few updates he could manage from a distance. What a dedication and reassuring thought that such excellent service is being provided by the manufacturer after buying a very high quality audio component!

This is by far, the best after sales service that I've experienced. The countless online update from Lucas is pretty impressive. All I have to do is to allow him to get access to my PC and he'll waive his magic wand to do everything from afar. Lucas is one the BEST out there along with Ralph Karsten, Bill of LKV and Jim White of Aesthetix. Their customer service is top class!!!
