Our new M3's should be arriving in the next few weeks. They will have the newly announced MPod 3 point M3 specific speaker stands installed at the factory and be ready to go once they arrive.

The MPod's are a new designed Pod for the M3 MPOD 3-PT STAND. The MPOD is much larger than the Q Pod which is designed for lesser weights and designed to support very heavy speakers, specifically the M3 in this case.

Btw, we finally received our demo S1II's. I've heard them at shows, but was totally shocked, right out of the box at how close they sound to the S5II or S7's. Yes, less bass extension, but you don't even notice it on most music. As others have noted they are quite something especially at their price point.

Very likely, but nothing has been announced at this point. Just the M3 version for the moment.

And they are throwing in the new Qpod feet at no extra charge, Wow that's great...and as it should be for the new asking price of the M3.

The QPod platforms are $9600 retail and are not included in the M3 price.

4 pieces of aluminum and 6 QPods for $9600? What a rip........

What's the mechanism of action of the Q-pods

Actually the MPod's are a new designed Pod for the M3 MPOD 3-PT STAND. The MPOD is much larger and designed to support very heavy products. They are not just six Qpods and a few pieces of Al.

but what is their mechanism of action. Do they dissipate heat or ???

The new stand replaces the spikes and offers a much better coupling to the floor and eliminates extraneous resonances from the floor.....mechanical vibration control.

$10,000 for a set of optional "outrigger" speaker supports? Could be a new record of sorts. I'm sure someone will buy them.

Be curious as to how they perform versus a set of comparable "Stillpoints" under the speakers. Makes the SP product look like a "bargain".

rotflmao....

Will wonders ever cease? $10K !!!!

I would invite any of you kind gentleman to stop by for a visit if in NYC for a listen to the M3's with MPods in a few weeks once they arrive and then I would forward to your opinions.

They were thinking of charging $20K, but thought better of it.

Be careful what you are asking for, you might not like the opinion you get!

Regardless Davey I think his offer was a fair one. Then it would be interesting what people thought rather than speculating based on price. What interests me is the "offers a much better coupling to the floor and eliminates extraneous resonances from the floor."

Do pods or spikes achieve better coupling?

Steve, does there ever become a point when somethings simply isn't worth it? Personally, i am of the opinion that the hobby needs to step back and take a look at itself...in a very hard way.Do we really want to be expounding this kind of nonsense to anyone interested in getting into our hobby, you tell me???

This is being High End Audio where the metrics of quality is price, this won't dissuade anyone. This begs however the question: Why not provide this as part of the speaker? That is the speaker comes with its feet ...err.. pods... and it is a $85,000 speaker... Again this won't change much and those who can afford it will buy it and claim how much better the speakers are with the pods ...
On my side I cannot help but wait for the time when we audiophiles will wake up and smell the BS ... Excuse the strong language. It seems I could be an endless wait.

P.S. Davey and I did post simultaneously. I share his point of view.

My offer stands and I welcome your opinion after you have actually heard the system. If you don't like it that's great, not a problem, but it would be good to hear something prior to discussing it, don't you think?

Again, I welcome anyone for a visit, just to listen, not to purchase anything.

Frantz, How can you tell that it is BS if you have never heard it? Once you have heard or experienced something then I would understand that you could say that it is BS or whatever, but if you look at what it would take to engineer/design the Mpods and the aluminum stand to support a 350lb speaker and add to it's sonic capabilities vs. just supporting the speaker, it is quite an undertaking....or at least from my perspective it is.

From a dealer's point of view I would rather be able to have a $75K speaker that sounds great the way it comes standard, but if you want to add to the sonic performance for less than 13% of the cost of the speakers, then it's an option. Some buyers will want the MPod stand and some won't, why not let the buyer's decide rather than make them buy the stand.
