Sorry, i'm telefunken boy i love the studioamps and old Klein&Hummel SpeakerI know, I recently attended a meeting focussing on Klangfilm (and am listening to a KL-V204a amp)
they made some sweet stuff, and the designs were very thought out!
No more WE15?
Great clip and music.Sorry, i'm telefunken boy i love the studioamps and old Klein&Hummel Speaker
with Altec, Ev and Görlich drivers. Active Speakers with tube amps.
I would like to lock myself in here and listen to music for days.

They are awesome inside as well.Unfortunately, the Telefunken O 85a speakers are often butchered to get the power amps. well-preserved devices are traded for over € 5k. For me, O 85a surround sound monitors are one of the best speakers that are absolutely worth listening to.

Tosca?I am quite fond of the designs from Axel Gersdorf of Odeon myself....he has been at it for at least 35 years.View attachment 84367
I have heard of these speakers but never listened to a pair.i think I would like there sound.Tosca?
i once heard odeon 30 loudspeakers, hifi fair in hannover. you had to sit very precisely in the sweetspot. then sounded very balanced and very lively

I have the La Bohemes, which were the biggest of the full horn line and the big brother of the Tosca. It has the same tweeter horn as the no.30s. The rest of the design is quite different... I have friends with the newer versions of the 30 (one has a 32 and the other has a rebuilt 38 that has the latest Carnegie drivers and crossover). I also have a pair of the new Rigolettos.Tosca?

The photo with the Rigolettos is at the Odeon Factory when i picked them up from the manufacturer. Is this your place morricab??
This is my issue with spherical horns. With my Avantgards I had to sit in the sweet spot and perficaly still to enjoy the sound.Tosca?

I find my larger ones beam more than the smaller Rigolettos. My constant directivity horns in my DIY setup still don’t have the same wide sweet spot of a conventional tweeter.Hi Jeffrey,
The problem isn’t spherically shaped horns but the “spherical / Kugelwellen” geometry. It is entirely plausible to build constant directivity horns spherical. One very crude example would be a spherical conical horn, which actually has one advantage of being relatively decent for constant directivity (although other disadvantages too) - you will note that OMA use this type albeit as a 12 sided petal not a full spherical - the latter would also be fine. It just means the sides are parallel. An ice cream cone shape.
There is no free lunch with all this stuff. The Altec style multicells have a host of other problems such as fingering, which is a result of multiple beaming points. Radial horns have limited vertical dispersion.
Best.
