To save cluttering up this thread, I posted my thoughts in the Riviera Levante threadSounds like you are going to have an interesting week SA. I don't have much in the way of exotica in my collection, just a few well regarded tubes. Always interesting to hear how alternatives sound. I do also think it comes down to the combination - having the right, or wrong, combination can impact how well another tube performs / sounds down the line.
I'd be interested to hear how you get on.
I'll take a look, Thanks SA!To save cluttering up this thread, I posted my thoughts in the Riviera Levante thread

Have you tried them in circuit?A spare pair of Melz 1578 in their original packaging , this time with shiny nickel plates and no ‘1578’ markings. If anyone has some to sell, then drop me a PM / email.

Not the nickels but I have been happily using matt grey plate 1578 for the past year.Have you tried them in circuit?
1 of 2 1578 OTK, original package. Pristine looking pair. Haven't tried them, but the 2 other pairs I purchased had poorly soldered pins.A spare pair of Melz 1578 in their original packaging , this time with shiny nickel plates and no ‘1578’ markings. If anyone has some to sell, then drop me a PM / email.
