New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Steve Smith just nicknamed Jrue Holiday , Claws. The grab from Booker and the alley oop to Giannis made a possible 1 point Suns lead into a 3 point Bucks lead and 1 free throw which became another possession. He was heralded as the guy whom the Bucks signed this season to help Giannis and indeed he is becoming the X-factor, on both ends of the court to boot. I used to blame him for missing those open shots and layups but being an 11 year veteran he just keeps on playing and his game showed up in this series.

Comic relief provided by Bobby Portis Jr. and Giannis as the former made a tough follow up basket and flexed his muscles and Giannis answered with his own 2 muscles with a very 'mean' pumped up look. These 2 guys can make the skinniest WWE-like characters to be flexing such 'power'. :D

so the question is, "do the Suns have enough grit to dig out and take it to a 7th game at home?

well Suns have the best road record but lost the last 2 in Milwaukee. This could be payback and retribution to the Suns who were down 0-2 to the Lakers and came back to win after AD went out. Well the Bucks are healthy and playing solidly at both ends of the court whereas the Suns game has withered. Booker is still making the bulk of the points but where is that pizzaz that the Suns had in the first 2 games and where are all of the other scorers who were dropping 3's from all over the court. The Suns got burned at their own game yesterday as the Bucks were raining in 3's from everywhere.

The momentum shifted when the Bucks evened the series

I'll be interested now as to what rabbit Monty Williams pulls out of his hat

Did anyone notice yesterday during the game that a referee was removed and replaced by a substitute because of COVID protocol. Also Giannis older brother was out for the same reason....but I have never seen a referee change during a game

The NBA also announced that Sean Wright wouldn’t be able to officiate due to the league’s health and safety protocols.

Wright was replaced by James Williams.

The Suns were raining in shots in the first quarter, and I thought this game was over as they were up by 16 and at home. Jrue Holiday, of all people, saved them in the 2nd quarter. It was an answer or firepower with more artillery fire from the Bucks, and when Middleton got going, Giannis knew his game was was going to be looser and he felt so comfortable he would take those looping high arc shots and make them, and when he makes those kinds of shots, you know he's is a groove, and that alley oop dunk shows how much gas Giannis still has, as he came down after the dunk and was aiming to do more drills ala American Ninja. It was still anybody's game until Booker turned around and was met by Holiday who made the steal and pass of the game all in a few seconds and that pretty much sealed the victory. Down the line, defense came to help the cause of the Bucks, and if they show the same focus on defense on Tuesday, they will have achieved what only Jabbar and the Big O had done in Milwaukee, that is to win the title.

Didn't notice that, and that certainly is a first.

IMO that steal by Holiday will prove to be the straw that broke the camel's back. That was clearly the turning point of the game and likely the series

Am I the only one that senses Chris Paul is showing signs of game fatigue on a team of gazelles that he is supposed to be directing. He's not the same as the field marshall he was in the first two games. The Bucks were playing with poise whereas the Suns were playing with frenzy. Where are all the 3 point shooters the Suns had. The Bucks were draining threes from everywhere last night

And how bout Pat Connaugton who drilled in four 3’s, clutch shots which preserved their lead. An unsung hero, like Portis. Before the playoffs never heard of Pat.

It's new to me to see Giannis play center in this Finals. He seems to have grown taller from the day he entered the league. Amazing athlete.

and with the Bucks now in control it seems that once again that MVP ladder keeps changing. It's tough not to give Giannis the nod but for me the guy who kept the Bucks in this series is Middleton (and Middleton and Holiday the last game). Giannis is indeed a gifted athlete but the gutsiness of Middleton with a never say no attitude still gets my vote. But what do I know....I said Suns in 6

Agree on Middleton. He's been on my radar for a long time, mainly on games against the C's, I saw him play with fierceness and is a no nonsense player. I've been tracking his box scores and most often than not if he scores low, the Bucks lose the game, that's how important I see him to the Bucks' cause. Of course Giannis will always be Giannis, and being an MVP was kinda like a curse to him because the criticism on him was that he was good during the regular season and disappears during the playoffs, for the past few years, the last being the sweep by the Heat just last year. Middleton and Holiday now emerge as excellent 2-way players unlike Tucker who is clearly 1-way. And the versatility of Giannis (now he's passing is really great), they've got the smell of the title, and they are home, but home is not always a guarantee for a win; just ask Kareem's '74 Bucks, who beat Boston at the Garden for Game 6 to tie at 3-3, headed to Milwaukee for the kill for Game 7 at home, but got massacred early and lost the game and the title.

Both teams playing sloppy with missed shots, turnovers and fouls

Bucks 18-11 with 3:00 left in the first

Ayton has been a dud and Booker making careless turnovers on errant passes or steals

A new champ might be crowned tonight. However both teams stink so far

That is some sea of humanity out there at the Deer District. I've never seen such a sardine packed crowd outside a basketball arena. The Raptors crowd is another.
