New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

This Clipper team is starting to look like the really bad LAC teams from the early 2000's.

Pathetic.
The good thing is they got a comeback win.

I woke up today and as I checked the standings, I had to rub my eyes as the Bulls came from behind on De Rozan's 37 points to beat the Celtics (ouch Phil). Not only do I feel bad for Phil I was astonished to see that at this point in the early season the Bulls have the best record in the league. They are an exciting team to watch

and I also squinted when I saw that the Bucks, Nets and Hawks are in the bottom half of the standings. Not that any of tis means much this early in the season. To me it only shows that once again there is not only parity throughout the league, there have so far been a lot of games which I considered upsets. Nothing is sacred anymore because on any given day, any team, it seems can beat teams ranked well above themselves in the power ratings

Not sure I agree with the Heat being number one in the power ratings

I was sorry to read about Kein Love once again. This doesn't sound like he's been exposed to Covid but rather something more serious such as physical injuries and/or mental issues, with which he has struggled with over the years as he has been quite ope about it. Could he be physically and mentally burned out as the press release was quite short

It’s not known if Love is still with the team.

Kevin Love placed in health and safety protocols, out indefinitely

The veteran forward will be sidelined for Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Portland doesn't seem to be the team they were last year and I remain uncertain about Chauncey at the helm and being unproven.

Big question is whether Lillard will be traded or request a trade this year but how about this last night in Philadelphia.

Sixers fans chant 'We want Lillard' as he shoots FTs

Yeah, but Blazers fans will chant we don't want Simmons. :D

And finally ....I have rarely had a good word to say about the Lakers and their hopes for a title this year as they just look like the "over the hill gang". Sadly it seems that the oldest guy (Le Born) has been the only one performing up to expectations. AD has merely flashes of greatness and Westbrook at this point doesn't seem like he will ever be on the front of a Wheaties cereal box as he continues to struggle and has even fewer flashes of greatness. I miss Caruso and many of the younger players as I watch the Lakers games and continue to wonder if they will ever gel into a well disciplined team

Having said this, the one over the hill player who I find to perform well coming off the bench and being a force on the floor is Carmelo who truly seems to be enjoying his success when he's out there.
Melo has really been the big surprise for me

Westbrook as the highest player on the team has a lot to prove going forward. He seems to have some great moments only to miss errant shots and turnovers from terrible passes. Westbrook has to step up otherwise he will be the $45M flub. There must be a reason he has become a journeyman player. He didi nothing in Houston and even less in Washington and I'm beginning to wonder if he is doing the same in LaLa Land

It was a phenomenal game from thr Bulls perspective, LaVine and DeRozan taking over in the 4th, tough to guard both at once, and the rest of the guys (Vukevic had a near triple/double) stepping up as well. After a tough loss to the Knicks, they beat the previously undefeated Jazz and now the Celts on the road -- impressive bounceback.

They are playing great team ball and have a couple of goto scorers. That and scrappy D is a pretty good formula. Rebounding will likely be an issue though as they are pretty small.

Apparently shooting percentage is down across the NBA. Some are blaming the new ball - League switched from Spalding to Wilson.

I know the Clippers need an excuse for their poor shooting! ;)
I think the refs are 'letting them play' more this year too, Very happy too see fewer nonsense touch fouls and obvious plays for contact that would otherwise be desperate shots

The Lakers have yet to play any defense and at home to the Rockets they trail 70-64 at the half

very lackluster although Westbrook is playing with more certainty rather than tenacity and I like that but guys this is Houston they are playing

I guess it doesn’t matter now many point your opponents score against you as long as you score at least one more point. Case in point tonight was Lakers played no defense and held on to win

119- 117

game to watch today is the Bulls facing the Sixers in Philadelphia. If Sixers win they will be tied with Bulls for first but if they lose I would say the Bulls are indeed for real. This will be their first real test against an elite team

Sixers prove their worth as they beat the Bulls and share the top spot in the East
Without Simmons and Tobias Harris who are out indefinitely to boot. And it was not Embid scoring 35 points. Balanced attack by other non big name players.

Warriors are impressive, this Poole guy really shook the house with his shots. Cavs are winning games too, their young guns are performing well. The C's won against their favorite whipping boys Magic. Still a 2 player game. They do not have the 4 scorers than the top teams have. The Wizards, Heat and Hornets can easily beat them.

And what about the Blazers who to me seem to be in free fall as they are mired in the bottom of the standings. Im guessing Lillard might end up being traded but I remain somewhat skeptical with Chauncey at the the helm of the team
