New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Denver still has to be the presumed winner of the WC this year as they seem to be better even than last year. Last night they killed the Bulls 123-101 and Jokic just misses another triple double. However Murray leaves the game early due to hamstring tightness and Porter Jr steps up with a 27 point night to mitigate the loss of Murray. So far I don't see any team upsetting the Nuggs in the WC this year but the the finals start and if it is Boston, I think this will be an epic series

Lakers got spanked last night and Orlando to me is a fun team to watch They easily could make it to the playoffs

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Franz Wagner scored 26 points, Paolo Banchero added 25 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds and the Orlando Magic blasted the Los Angeles Lakers 120-101 on Saturday night.

Anthony Davis had 28 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks for the Lakers, who took a 51-40 drubbing on the boards while playing without five injured players. The Magic turned 17 Laker turnovers into 22 points and led by 25 points late in the third quarter.

“That’s definitely been our trend - offensive rebounds and points off turnovers,” said LeBron James, who finished with 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists. “We'll do a good job of getting a stop and then an offensive rebound allows them to score.”

“It definitely helps when you have bigger bodies,” James said. “We have three of our bigger bodies out right now with injuries. ... It would help, but that’s definitely one of the ways we have to look at to get better.”

Rookie Anthony Black scored 11 points in his first start for the Magic, who were missing three players. Goga Bitadze started at center and finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

“They're down bodies, we're down bodies and so the game basically comes down to mental approach,” said Laker coach Darvin Ham. “Their energy, their effort, they outworked us.”

Wagner scored seven straight points early in the game and Banchero hit a 3-pointer and a 19-foot jumper during a 13-0 run that put Orlando up for good in the first quarter. They led by 16 points at halftime.

Davis, who averaged a league-leading 40.2 minutes in the Lakers' first five games, was called for his fourth foul when Banchero drove for a power dunk just 1:25 into the third period.

Banchero scored five points and Black added a three-point play on a 9-0 Orlando run, and Cole Anthony's 3-pointer stretched the lead to 99-74 before the end of the third quarter.

Coming five days after the Lakers' 106-103 win over the Magic in Los Angeles, the victory broke Orlando's seven-game losing streak against the Lakers.

“We don't look at any other team and think we can't match up,” said Banchero.

The NBA's Rookie of the Year last season gave much of the credit to Black, who was thrust into the starting lineup by the injuries to guards Markelle Fultz (knee) and Gary Harris (groin).

“Plus-32 for my dawg right here,” said Banchero, referring to Black's plus/minus ratio in 30 minutes. “Plus-32 is nuts. He just stepped up right away.”

“He wasn't afraid,” said Magic coach Jamahl Mosley. “”He embraces moments, and he's willing to make the easy play, the easy pass and the right decision."

The Lakers used an eight-man rotation for a second straight game until emptying their bench in the final four minutes. They played without Rui Hachimura (concussion protocol), Taurean Prince (knee), Gabe Vincent (knee), Jalen Hood-Schifino (knee) and Jarred Vanderbilt (knee).

Stephen A comes down on Draymond re GSW team chemistry

Stephen A.: Draymond needs to address the 'why' on team chemistry issues

The talk is both Klay and Dr
aymond are moving on next year
Klay is on the final year of his contract. $43m, Green has a contract running through 2027, which is a player option year. Can't see him moving anywhere next year or so.

Her's some great news for Phil re Tatum.....the Celtics are truly playing as if they have only one goal at the end of the season and that's to win it all. So far I believe more so this year than last year that this is the Celtics year

TATUM REACHES MILESTONE AS CELTICS IMPROVE TO 5-0

Jayson Tatum becomes the youngest player in Celtics history score 10,000 career points as Boston remains unbeaten.

He has to make that turn now, as the leader of the team, who will carry them to the promised land, so to speak. That means lesser turnovers, more assists, rebounds and points, of which he is already good at. Oddly, his comfort zone is at the 3 point area, for a player his height. He still needs improvement in his ball handling when he penetrates, which is why he's always in the 3 pt area in the first place. To me, adding Porzingis was almost as big news as when they added Garnett back in 2008. And Holiday, though not a Ray Allen type of shooter, is an excellent 2 way player. Brad has cleared his table to go all out for the gold. I heard the owners told him to do so. :D

The rumors on the street here is Draymond is wanting to joint the Heat and AFAIK the negotiations have stopped on renewing Klay’s contract

So just imagine how great Tatum will be when he does learn these skills you comment that he needs and I agree. Yet putting that aside he’s a damn great player .

Cavs come out slugging and shooting the whole night against the Warriors, beating them by a good margin. The Cavs are very young, and they can run and jump around like crazy inside with the beanpoles Allen and Mobley doing the job. Outside, it's Garland, who just came back from injury, running amuck, as did Mitchell and ex-Heat Strus. Cavs got their money's worth in Strus.

The young uns of the league brings back the saying in boxing. Speed kills. The skills and conditioning from the various development programs around the world are coming to the forefront. What a far cry from when we started following basketball where only guards and a very select few had shooting and handles. I echo what Steve said, the changing of the guard is here.

Lakers play a half decent first half in Miami. The Lakers have a half decent bench and some very decent seasoned payers. They can score easily but the word defense is not something in their vocabulary. If they stay healthy I think they can pose more of a threat than what they do now . AD goes out with 2 minutes left in the half with an ankle injury

At the half

Lakers 59 Heat 62

Lakers as usual found a way to lose the game. They stalled in the second half and go down 13/until the final 3 minutes in the game when LeBron brings them to with in one point. Lakers have the last possession. Lebron charges the basket to collapse the defense and throws the ball out to the corner far an unobstructed three which clanged off the rim

Final Lakers 107 Heat 108

Lakers are winless on the road

AD goes out with his ankle and D'Angelo is tossed from 2 quick T's for arguing with the ref

uh oh watch out for the T-Wolves

Celtics lost in OT to the Wolves who played a strong game all night. Their starters are as good as any top tier team. Edwards is really a good player and their center piece.

It only reinforces the thought that in the league, there is such parity now that on any given day, all teams are beatable

the 25 game suspension of Ja Morant by the league has, as expected, left the Grizz mired inn the cellar of the WC with the worst record in the league at 1-6. With 18 games left in his suspension the Grizz are done for the year IMHO
