just my 2 cents here - it seems there are ppl for and ppl against the dac here . I assume given how esoteric this dac is - most have not had a chance to listen to it. What if the dealers here on the forum sent a dac to trusted members on the forum like Steve, Golum , Mike Lavigne to test out and for them to report back to everyone - I think that would be a very good exercise indeed. Else ppl will always have a skeptical eye that there are vested interests in the promotion of a gear here. And we dont want to run into a risk of having breakthrough gear discounted as well right?
I think less photos of AE will be useful, i don't think it will help the cause and can only polarise views even more here on the forum. It is a fantastic system don't get me wrong and i love every bit of it but then again ppl are starting to doubt your independence views from ae here stereophonic

I understand your point of view and your idea falls on the roof of any dealer (5 in US now) or promotion interest here.
I can’t be independent.
I’m a Wadax costumer from 4 years ago, when Wadax was only present in AE.
I was playing with mainstream brands like Aurender, Esoteric, DCS, etc… so my Atlantis Server discovery was so revelatory that i saw very clearly my new line of new purchases. I sold my Esoteric D02X and purchased an Arcadia Wadax Dac. OMG the increase in SQ was so big that i purchased the Atlantis Dac inmediately.
I learned a lot with Javier (Wadax) knowledge and Chris (AE) experience and i’m still fascinated how these guys have developed a brand up to current level.
Maybe Wadax is a new brand to many people but it has being present until two years ago exclusively in AE during ten years.
So no interest by my side.
I’m only a proud owner that is fascinated about Wadax development and i’m tired of old mainstream technologies supported by same mainstream magazines.
I have a friend that has Reference Dac and Server. He lives only 50 kms from my home and i never will visit him to listen the system.
Why? Because i don’t like torture myself. If i would have the money i would buy them with my eyes closed. You would have to feel the same as me to understand my point of view.
I’ll continue posting AE pics because they are the best Wadax connoisseurs, i like their systems and i understand and learn with their fine tunning. From Revopods feets to best cables to get best sinergy with Wadax components….
If someone likes it, great, if doesn’t, who cares? Not me….
But, i can’t see people talking without respect about something they don’t know only because is new and different or directly with malicious intent….

sometimes too much can harm a product Chris, just saying. As audiophiles we naturally gravitate towards the exceptional products. A ferrari doesnt need selling for eg nor does Loro Piana vicuna. an independent view is always a good thing , it can also be well respected as well - avoiding the traps and pitfalls of he says she says and the like. That doesnt help the product or do it any justice at all. again just my 2 cents.
haha although i dont know how a chinese grandparent came up! Like Howie my grandparents are from China too.....having said that probably so did covid - but so what? Having something made in Europe doesnt naturally make it better. It's perceived better but not necessarily better.

It's a Good idea but I don't think Wadax is alone in getting criticism from those who have never seen or heard it. It's the nature of forums and social media, alas.

Those days I was able to hear the Atlantis stack and the Reference DAC made one hell of a lasting impression.
Also have a friend in the southeast US who owns the REF DAC and now the REF Streamer/Server. He's beyond happy...

No matter where they made , quality control is the key point, I know there is one reference DAC is out of order too (few months ago).

I don't get the point of this....you'd be surprised how many chipsets and boards, sub-assemblies, for tech devices you use
everyday are manufactured in Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Israel, etc....
Some facts....
Apple recently broke a 15 year partnership Intel US...doing all their own chips and leverages "5-nanometer plus" production
techniques in Taiwan. Intel's best is 7nm tech and many of their lines are 10nm and 14nm if memory serves.
Many still think Intel is purely US-made; Intel has assembly and testing facilities in China, Israel, Ireland, Malaysia, Vietnam,
and the United States of America. Only 75% percent of their entire semiconductor parts manufacturing occurs in the US itself.
All that is then sent overseas for assembly and testing plus that other 25% of semiconductor MFG is done outside the US.
Where that motherboard is made isn't terribly relevant; in high-end audio there are tons of manufacturing sourcing components,
sub-components, etc...from other suppliers and using them/adapting them for their purposes. The quality and capabilities of a
thing is the most important factor. All IMHO...
The point is : it is too easy and cheap to get this motherboard, why don't Wadax buy a good new one and fix the Atlantic server, they said they changed the motherboard.

As i wrote before i have direct contact with Javier and Chris so lets begin:

I have talked with everybody who is involved in your history.
The client is real and he bought the server more than 5 years ago. It stopped working and was sent to Spain. Motherboard had a problem. Direct replacement. But after 5 years, the model of that generation (AS1, currently AS2), was not available in the market and Intel took an unusual time in a new one. Unit repaired was returned to the client working and the same problem was repeated. The client himself confirmed the origin of the problem, auser error due to an inadequate connection to the usb ports.
Despite this, the client was provided with another unit so that he could continue listening. And the customer paid
zero for all repair, more than 5 years after the
date of purchase.
Furthermore, it is the only Atlantis Server with hardware (remember, inadequate connection) “problems” in more than 200 units produced. And at the level of repairs, Wadax does not have to date no unit pending repair, of any model.
