Pass Lab owners - Check in!

Thanks for that Joe. I don't really need a tube like ss amp when I have the real thing :)

The xp-20 and x350.5 is sounding pretty sweet at the moment.

Do you leave the amps on all the time, or just when time to listen.

It will be interesting what difference you hear going from the 100.5's up the tree.

Pass Labs makes great gear. The XA amps consume a fair amount of electricity. The 100, 160 and 200 consume 300, 600 and 700 watts each respectively. I turn them on when I plan on listening and off when going out to work. So 6-12 hrs a day is about avg.

The X350.5 consumes 600 watts by itself and leaves class A at 40 wpc.

The XA amps get more natural/lifelike as you go up the line and the bass gets tighter and firmer.

I suppose this is as good a spot as any for my first post.

I should be receiving my pair of XA160.5s and an XP30 within the next two weeks or so :D. Based on the two lengthy demos I had, I am DYING in anticipation!

A huge Congratulations Michael. I am happy for you.

Congrats Michael... I know I love mine.....

Hi Bruce,

I am thinking of moving up to the XA160.5's or even XA200.5's. Do you have any opinion on the 160 vs the 200?

Well to tell you frankly... I preferred the sound of the XA100/160 amps better than the 200... Don't know why??

Thank you. I feel the bass on the XA100's is a little soft/puffy. I have not heard the 160/200 yet.

Thanks Bruce and Joe.

I'd also be interested in any first hand experience with both the 160.5s and 200.5s.

Joe: Just get the 200.5s; you know you want to ;).

I read this somewhere...I can't recall where. It is surprising as I imagined the 200.5 would do what the 160.5 did, just a little better.

Half the people I've talked to like the XA160.5 better, the other love the XA200.5 better. Without doing a side by side comparison and listening for myself I don't know what to think.

The 200,5 is so good amps I cant belive it, I have several customers who want to run with two sets off them...

Wow! That must be something. I would love the Xs-150's but they are too far out of reach.

If you sell the burmy amps and trade the 100.5's well within reach.

Then you just have to work one year more, the you have them ),,,

True, maybe I should wait and just go for the Xs-150. What do you think vassago?

I love my Dartzeel gear but want something else to play with.

I will say go for the 200,5, and when you have the last $ then the xs150,,, I dont know your dealer but, if he is a good dealer he give you 100% pement back from the 200,5 then you bay the xs150 that what I do...
