Psvane Acme Series (new flagship series)

I concur with Saleh and Faggella on Robert. I have met Robert on a couple of occasions and been to his place. I found him to be quite a gentleman. I haven’t dealt with him yet but nothing tells me that my experience will be different from my impressions.

Maybe, but I don't think that the website also celebrates the Chinese New Year. I will try to contact the seller in February
You would be very surprised...all closed

@Saleh84
I have a doubt. Reading the manual of the LM-219IA I did not understand how to perform the bias adjustment.
Can you explain step by step how to do it? What is the difference between the selectors on the integrated front panel and those on the top of the integrated one? Thank you.

Reading the "bias adjustment section", I understand that when it says "Before adjustment please
select v1 / v3 or v2 / v4 position. 845: IA = 70mA, 300B: IA = 50mA "

On the front panel (845) I select V1-V2;
Set the number scale (1, 2, 3, etc.) to 7, set the number scale (0, 10, 20, etc.) to 0 (IA = 70mA?),
Then with a screwdriver on the top of the integrated I bring the pointer on the central dot.
After (300B)
I select V3-V4;
I set the scale of numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) to 5, I set the scale of numbers (0, 10, 20, etc.) to 0 (IA = 50mA?),
Then with a screwdriver on the top of the integrated I bring the pointer on the central dot.
is it right as reasoning / procedure or am I wrong something?
Thank you

Hi Fagella,
Just trying to work off memory but should come to you from the factory OK and be set right as you receive it... but if you start with no signal and the bias turned to the left and wind it up from there you should be fine.

From memory aim to get the upper meter to 70 ma for the 845 and the lower meter should then show 50 ma for the 300B driver.

Then switch to do the other 845 and 300B on the other side... repeat and rinse. Nice amp btw. Enjoy.

Within 7days, the tube went bad with bias going up to only 50mA not 120mA as recommended.

I had tried to adjust it using bias meter in LM 508 with no use.

It went up to only 60mA.

The issue is not quality of sound but the reliability of tube and bad dealer support.

Good evening
I need help / advice with the 300B vacuum tubes of my LM-219IA integrated amplifier. How can I check if the standard 300B have a problem?
I made a check of the bias and especially with the V3 I was unable to adjust the exact bias as described in the operation manual.
Even if I adjust the screw on the top of the amplifier to the maximum, I cannot bring the indicator into the central dot. I attach photos. Thank you

I had never used LM219A.

But it seems that your tube has some problem.

If you contact seller of the tube, then he will replace it with new one with one year warranty.

That is what my seller did.

The vacuum tubes are the standard ones.

I contacted the dealer (Mr. Robert Lai) and he replied that he will send me a new pair of 300Bs as soon as possible. ;)

I can confirm that Robert is a great person to deal with, and if you are eyeing a line magnetic he is the right person to get it from. His tweaks makes these awesome amps sound even better than intended. His pricing is excellent as well. In short, he was the best price i could find for LM845 including the internal upgrades. Go figure! The feeling u get is he is an Audiophile running a shop, rather than a trader selling Audiophile stuff ))

After checking the website mentioned in a comment yesterday, seems the ones i got are NOS, made in west Germany and its written on the tube, barely readable (from what i read, avoid east Germany facility telefunkans), but obviously there are different types of NOS telefunkan that varies in price from thousands of dollars (!!) To couple of hundreds. I couldn't figure out what i had exactly but obviously they were not a super rare ones, i think Robert charged me like 270 or 300 Singaporean dollars can't remember and lazy to dig the invoice. But it was not more than that for sure. Same price range you can find in stock at the tube website mentioned here yesterday.

Well wither you get the 219ia or the 845 premium, coming from solid state, you will be a happy man! Good move in general, and good choice of an amp as well. From reading forums, filtering the real deal advice from noise, line magnetic is an excellent choice that sounds a lot more than asking price. However, A key factor though is a matching efficient speaker. Mine like mentioned before is cube audio nenuphar. Its like they were made for each other!
In a couple of weeks i will probably hear my LM845 vs an aris cerat genus integrated on nenuphar. $$$$$$ and made in Cyprus, very highly praised, well if my amp holds its own then that would the final confirmation to me that i absolutely made the right choice. Even if it doesn't, its cheaper than genus by a good amount!
ACME 300Bs and 845s are a major factor of the satisfaction I'm getting now. Reversed out of curiosity to stock for a couple of days, they are very very decent as stock, but u lose a lot of air, depth, bass tightness, and tonality. If u have not heard the ACMEs, your would be fine. But if you do, its impossible to go back! You have been warned )))
I'd be curious to hear your impressions of the LM845 vs an aris cerat genus integrated.

yet to be done again properly (the time I tired, it was too hasty, so many things did go wrong so I would say that I could't have a proper listen for proper verdict. I promise to try again, shall try to record on my zoom H6 this time for sure. will post here as well to let you know! moving the LM845 around is a daunting task hence it wont be immediate. but at least I know what to do the next time I'm there.
in all fairness, initial impression is AC Genus is the better amp, which is expected at such varying price points. i can also confidently say the LM845 is an excellent amp for the money. maybe the best value for money would be LM219ia. however hauling my amp to the other friend with the LM219ia is another difficult mission. it would be great though to check cause I never saw anywhere a direct comparison between these two.

in general, listening to Kassandra ref2 DAC + genus integrated is an experience by itself. the hand shake between the two components yields in a sound that the least to describe in my book and taste, is almost perfect. wonder what higher models of Aries Cerat could do? kass + genus has an expansive stage, crazy dynamics and grip, perfect tonality from top to bottom with endless details.

AC recommends Elrog 845s with it as an upgrade and my friend got them. I've briefly tried the ACME 845s in the genus, my feeling is the ACME has more details, more frontal row presentation. the Elrog is a "relaxed" tube, "clean" sounding tube. I would not say rolled off in highs though. in fact its a totally different sound presentation which is enjoyable. I will probably have these elrog 845s for the whole next week, will post my impressions as well while trying them in my LM845 amp. that would be happening before the final amp face off which I will try to do soon.

hearing the kassandra ref2 and realizing what a real high end dac could do, made me buy a better dac finally. something I never felt I would need for two whole years with denafrips terminator while my system kept changing around it. I just pulled the trigger on a Rockna wavedream signature XLR DAC. the kass is too big of a component for my taste - it does not even fit in my rack, and most importantly way too expensive for my budget which is already way too exhausted. if the rockna could give 90% of the kass performance, I'm a happy man. I have been reading about it for while, now its a going to be reality within few weeks of wait.

You mention that AC recommends the Elrog 845. I thought that the Genus uses 813s(?)
