Congratulations. I believe your made a great decision in moving up from the Sasha to the Alexi. They do sound very nice with Nick's gear.

If they have been played but stored give them 24 hours of chamber music at loud levels - it is Dave Wilson advice for burn-in.

I took off the casters. If you look closely at the pic from the seating position, you'll notice that the casters were temporarily installed into the cones that accept the spikes. This made the speakers sit much higher than they normally would. Thinking that this would throw off the propogation chart, I removed the castes and put in the spikes - but I have them sitting on Herbies Hush Puckies (basically sliders made to go under spikes).

Holy deep bass, batman! I had turned off the subs while I tried to play with positioning and thought they were on! I need to start over in terms of placement which I hope to do today.

Lloyd, my RELs are hooked up to the Doshi amps (as opposed to a separate IC from the preamp). They take the signal (and character) from the amp but do not add any load.

Nice one, MadFloyd!!! Great news...and a great speaker. I suspect it has the potential to go down as an all-time classic, like the SF Guarneri, the Quad Electrostatic, Apogee Stages, IRS Beta V...it really is special. It is a vast evolution of the WATT line even though it takes up only a bit more cubic volume...and in truth is really sitting alongside the Maxx generation, and I certainly prefer it to the Maxx and Maxx 2...have not heard the Maxx 3 in a long, long while so that is a tougher call. I could see why people might prefer one over the other for different reasons. It really is that special imho.

Congrats! Just for sport since you've got the sub...have you tried cutting it off above, say, 48hz-52hz? Just a pure random Wild A-s Guess...but seeing as how I love my X1s with my Velodyne DD18 running in parallel and cut off above 40hz (48db slope)...I just thought i'd ask.

I thought for sure and was prepared to make the investment in 2 JL subs, but when I did the measurements after the last move, there was no need to.

cool! i'm kind of addicted to bass, and in my room, it makes all the difference at both volume level 1 and 40, let alone 50+ (which pretty much never gets tapped unless its an MFSL disc and I am up for hearing 'live' level volumes in our living room which I try to avoid since a band in your living room 15 hours a day on the weekend will definitely eventually deafen us. Its 'only' 40hz but it really makes a big difference in that nicely controlled gut punch. I think the Alexias in the showroom were incredibly full and tight, so I could see where in the right room, well setup, it could work perfectly without. It was very impressive.
