IMO, you just need to hear Magicos and Wilson’s properly set up. Though I own Magico M3s, Wilsons sound amazing IMO. I had a friend own some Alexia 2s and they were stunning. Lee just did a video on the Alexia V. It’s well done and includes some of the manufacturing process in the video as well. It’s pretty amazing.

Also I know dealers who give a lot to charity. Just because they don't always advertise such doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. A group of audiophiles I know gave a lot during COVID. I’m sure there’s other examples out there as well. And though I do purchase high-end gear we give as well. IMO you can’t paint everyone with the same brush.

I watched half the vid , nothing against Lee , but this is a marketing video .

I agree it’s a marketing video. But Lee owns it. So, IMO he’s qualified to speak about it just like anyone else speaks about their system.

I enjoyed seeing some aspects of how the speaker was built. I wish we had more videos with more even more content like it here. I find it interesting to see how things are made.

Around the 42 minute mark, Lee talks about one of his favorite LPs and the drum solo. Would it not be great to actually then insert a system video of that recording on Lee's system imbedded in the speaker video? I agree it is about marketing.

Here is one of that drum solo. Bonzo certainly has others. What does the Alexia V sound like on this music?

Yes, this would have been better. Maybe he will have a follow up video that will play some music.

IMO the print magazines can’t communicate what was said - and how it was said - in this video. Lee is a pro but also you could feel excitement about the speakers.

Everyone knows this is a wise financial investment for your family's future.

The tape cost is now $500 - fortunately I paid a lot less about fifteen years ago. What do you expect to be its value in five years? As far as I see once we broke the seal the value of such tape immediately decreases.

for tapes i don't agree. it's rare that tapes are played to death, and modern formulations hold up pretty good.

might un-played Tape Project tapes be worth a bit more? maybe, but also those titles not played, are not the one's people want. i've sold a few of my Tape Project tapes with strong offers (above $500), made my own dubs first of course.

not likely i would sell any more of them.

A tape played in a poor condition machine - mechanically or for example with improperly demagnetized heads would sound poor. It is very easy to damage tapes and it is hard to check their condition - they are not like LPs in this aspect. Storage is also critical.

You are not a typical case - due to your public exposition and expertise in the subject people will trust you and pay you high prices. I would not have bough the Lamm ML3's from you so easily if it was not for your well known WBF credentials. ;)

I just wish i could find more music i want. I’m on every darned waiting list, and have been for more than a year, and even if i got every one of them i’d only have a smidge of the recordings i’d like to have in this format. I don’t like paying $500 for a single “album” but at the moment there isn’t enough competition or transfer technology to help lower the price. There seems to have been a push by the two big mags to introduce and review reel-to-reel machines, but there’s not been a commensurate push on the tapes themselves. If i can’t sccess the music, i’ll sell the machine, and use Waltz for Debbie as the cheese in the trap.

We are working on a video capturing the sound of my Alexia Vs playing music. Most likely we will record in 24/96.

As for Bonzo…he sounds amazing of course on the Vs.

Just for my information, did you listen to the WAMM and the M9?
No, and i never will ! Pricing is still ridiculously ! Unless i become 20 years younger by listening to them, the prices are silly ! ;)

And would it be an improvement over what you have , i seriously doubt it .
I m sure your Martin Logan statements can do things on vocals the WAMM can only dream of doing .
My point is if you would buy a speaker like that and put in your home and forget about all the shiny nuts and bolts / bling bling ......
The only thing that remains of value after 3 months is SQ ;)

Milan’s ML Statements were a very rare find. Used for a year and then stored in a cool dry place for the next fifteen. Amazing. Practically NOS.

Without you Peter i would never have chanced buying a posting from Craigslist ! Very fairly priced. But still ended up costing me $40 K with transport and taxes. But current top speaker manufacturers pricing only buys you a entry model speaker for that amount ! o_O

Milan, I can't remember the exact number of wooden crates, but it is more than a whole Lamm Signature suite of components, and that is a lot. And some of them were large. Shipping has become a major expense, but you have your speakers and I was happy to have helped and seen these legends. A statement speaker at entry level cost indeed. Have you seen cartridge, arm, and table prices for some statement vinyl gear? Incredible.
