Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

To me the likeliest spot will be on the same shelf as the router and switch but at the back of the shelf with the router and switch in the front of the shelf...or is that a mistake on my part. What I am clueless about is the access point. Will everyone need this and if not under which circumstances would it be necessary

I'd say the whole package should all comfortably fit on one shelf in your rack.

It appears you can use your house wifi...

Indeed.

Sure but, a separate Wi-Fi isolates the audio control device from your regular home devices

Yes, however only direct control commands are actually forwarded to the Extreme. There is however the control device to server latency aspect. Hence we reserve the right to change our recommendation to using a dedicated access point, which would of course be optional, but again would be a "cheap" off the shelf model, with perhaps a modification to diminish it's impact on the power side of things, as these are relatively power hungry devices which currently is the main culprit.

Dear Emile, Will this improve the sound for those who later purchase the Taiko BPS? Or is this an upgrade only for those who will not purchase the BPS?

it's currently a rather substantial upgrade, with the BPS things change, although I must stay there are still some merits to using it, we will however take it back if it becomes redundant when you upgrade to the BPS.

@Taiko Audio did you test the distributor with a range of LPSs? As it is the same cost as most top end LPSs, I am wondering if it at all mitigates need for the most expensive LPSs. Additionally, curious how much the sound signature of the LPS and DC cable connecting it to the distributor still comes through. Thanks.

Yes, each and everyone "sounds different", hence the inclusion of the alternative filters which can offset most of this.

The DC Power Distributor is currently listed as an option when ordering the Router. Will the DC Power Distributor be available to purchase separately in the future?

Sorry missed this initially, we are currently limited in the first batch size, we may consider offering it separately, but it will then need to be priced higher, we priced it as low as we possibly can as a router+switch "bundle" deal. It's a rather costly device to manufacture,

Emile, has commented that the power distributor is better than two lps. What improvement could you expect from a single Paul Hynes SR7T two rail 12 volt. ?

Order Router and Power Distributor!!!

Can you say anything about the gain with the wall wart feeding the power distributor?
why don't you use the LPS that is powering your switch as it will then power the switch and router per Emile's schematic

We should never use switching mode wallwart powersupplies.
They pollute the whole powerline system in our houses.

Pretty much the same, perhaps 17-18% in stead of 20%.
Do you mean that if we have a two rail LPS then that itself will be a 17-18% improvement hence skipping the need for the distributor?

Or do you mean the distributor will still give 17-18% improvement in the case of a two rail LPS?

Will the router and distributor both come with grounding posts, like the switch?

Wow, did not expect 5 pages to catch up on in 36 hours.
Router and Power Distributor order placed!

Still on the fence about the BPS, but either way I do not want to second guess whether I’m leaving some Emile/Taiko SQ magic/Taiko package synergy off the table. All-in on switch/NIC/router/PD Taiko networking combo. Now headed to update to 47 Build. Did not expect the ride on the Taiko train to further accelerate so quickly... literally hanging on here!

sense that all the blood, sweat, tears, technical prowess and conviction, are really increasingly starting to pay great dividends. amazing work Taiko and thank you for all the dedication
