I found the edit.
I hit "add" but that just added a radio OpenWRT. I assume I should delete that?
I think my strategy will be to increase the power and operating mode when I want to copy files to the Extreme and then go back to the default settings for listening. Using "n" and a higher power I am able to achieve 45 mbps which is great to copy files.
A question about burn in. Is there a burn in difference between installing the router/distributor vs. powering the combo separately for a few days, then installing?
I know where to clear the queue of course, but where do you clear the cache in Roon? No.

Good addition! I've now also added these DCD labels to the report on the Taiko Audio Website.Yeah:
Default:
Alt1:
Alt2:
Note that you should not take this as how you will perceive this yourself as your preferred outcome can depend on your powersupply/utility, system setup and your own individual perception and preference. Highly recommend to give them all a serious audition. The quickest way is to just switch the DC cable powering the switch between them as that will only cause a few seconds of “downtime”.
Go to setup, scroll down you will see clear cache. It will the ask to do a restart, just do it. Takes a second...I know where to clear the queue of course, but where do you clear the cache in Roon?
Thx. I never knew that was there. Have not used Roon (am using it now) since XDMS was first released.Go to setup, scroll down you will see clear cache. It will the ask to do a restart, just do it. Takes a second...
For those who have the dc distributor: does your grounding screw screw in all the way? Mine stops halfway, and so I have no tension on my grounding cable which keeps dropping off.
Mine does screw in all the way.
Are you hand tightening it or using Allen Wrench?
With the 10mm long screws that came with my unit, there is 2-3mm space with the Router and about 5mm space with the DCD from the farthest point of the casing where it curves away, and 2-3mm more to the bottom of the cavity.Allen wrench. Now it goes about 80% of the way in but not touching the metal still
Just wait until you hear NSM;-)Bob
I am just reading this post as I have been listening to Roon now all day but with songs that I use specifically to demo, here's my take, ...
XDMS is beautiful still but Roon sounds 3D and XDMS sounds 2D
I'm sure we could supply new ones. I recommend requesting this via support@taikoaudio.com.will you be able to supply stickers for those who already have the Router. It was a PITA trying to figure I vs l
For my units at least, that's not it. The screws are longer than the holes. The team is thinking of how to best address this as we speak.Take a green pad (for washing pots and pans) clean the threads on the screw, could be a small burr..
Use a couple SS washers...Problem solved...For my units at least, that's not it. The screws are longer than the holes. The team is thinking of how to best address this as we speak.
Bring it on...posts like this are just teasesJust wait until you hear NSM;-)
Can anyone describe what qualities roon-ies would prefer?
Please note that Emile only mentioned a likely correlation. It is not a hard rule. Without the Router and DCD, the way I hear it, Roon sounds more spacious, relaxed, and free-flowing, XDMS sounds tighter, more articulate, texturally more realistic, and more direct.Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème
It depends a bit on walls / flooring / windows etc. In The Netherlands we have a lot of “HR” / “HR+” or even “HR++” glass windows with double brick or concrete walls, Wi-Fi struggles passing through that. Im in my backyard now as I type this and my signal is strongwhatsbestforum.com
If you preferred Roon over XDMS before the router/dcd you will most likely have a preference for the “alt2” filter, if you preferred XDMS chances are good you’ll prefer “alt1”.

I just checked, and the site is online and the page loads ok. Maybe it was a temporary glitch or something downstream?Cannot access DOWNLOAD sectionView attachment 117893
