The best plug in filter ever!

Have had 2 Purons for a while and consider them essential. Mainstream seems to be on another level ( after 8 days of improvement with break-in). Very organic with smooth and agile ultra expressive inner transients. This all adds up to intense but seemingly effortless musical expression. As my system has improved ( with a number of Vera Fi products- see my comments on ultra piggy tails on SDFB thread) I have experienced my system listening experience going from 1) nice sonic production to 2) intense performance of music to 3) musicians just hanging out expressing their talents naturally . A bit subtle when described but profound when heard. Ordered another one!

I have 5 Puron's and one of the initial Vera-Fi Snub Way's in the listening room. Fantastic combo. Fantastic end result as to what hits the ears (and doesn't).

I would like to introduce to Mark one real world issue that might affect sales and returns. 2 Puron's can be plugged into an outlet (not perfectly, but each at a very slight angle). With the design of the MC - One can only utilize the entire outlet for one unit, as there is no room left for use on the other outlet (unless one has a very small plug they could utilize for another component).

The size does take up a lot of real estate on a strip, conditioner and/or and outlet. FWIW. Other than that? No issues, only praise.

Mark and I came to the conclusion that this specific adapter was a good one functionally and sonically: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-3-Outlet-Power-Hub-Adapter-36005/305186003#overlay

The size/fit issue is one I encountered with the SnubWay, affecting where I could plug it into a PSA regenerator (although not why I returned it).

I’m using 8” heavy duty AC pigtails between the filters & the receptacles. The aforementioned Power Hub Adapter can still impede the use of the adjacent receptacle, but the pigtails solve that problem neatly & effectively.

Yes, the Rigid hub is fine on an standard outlet, but wouldn’t do so well on a conditioner/regenerator. Mark’s 2’ Extreme Piggy is built to his specs and sounds very good, but a lot more $$ than the one on Amazon. For me, it’s all about the sound. Good find. Wish I had seen the latter first before ordering piggy’s, but will give it a try. Btw, here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Extension-12-Gauge-Three-Prong-Power-Cord/dp/B06ZYYMFXG/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1GZLXPOH9MT0Z&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7-EvM9ZSmbnrc2YHiQUfyd1ehkZEGh7jwxeCqvpNqqOwsXpMial9BA7rJeKLp-o_M3R5XTghHnQPLyb7llk--v61nAsfiMwn5-0A-smod4GbE9268hgBeL0LCO81ZeuU-hk7zpwLBr2L4gwohod2F0N_IqG10oRsqUO8FRHv8deozPDaw2hySPAGMr5POPhEaGhPseWY3JIYLnJHbTvGwaiUA-hJrWnI-ydxNNP8lAxwNk9cOTUhdXtsDphI74JKTDOkZ7pORUsIUXMs4ky0GEGe-nElB_trCI-HFG62e_o.zGUvKCsR4cx2ovN5Ry3c2-pO2PQDQb_6ygvEFa_2DQc&dib_tag=se&keywords=short+extension+cord+by+watt's+wire&qid=1725113651&sprefix=short+extension+cord+by+watt's+wire,aps,208&sr=8-5&th=1

If you read the Positive Feedback EAU-4 review, you'll find that accolades for Bill Stierhout’s initial products go back to reviews in The Absolute Sound and Stereophile in the late 1990's/early 2000's. And the fact that Nordost bought his harmonic resonance work for products that many of us now use and recommend says a lot (including the QK1, which was one of the two favorites in the Alpha Audio test, and the QV2, which one of the two reviewers also liked). The fact that Bill promoted his products here quite clumsily doesn't take away from that.

If you want measurements and blind tests, I suggest you head over to the ASR thread. Listening -- how it sounds -- has been the only criteria here. If you wish a sampling on that score, there is a thread or two on Audiogon where virtually all of the contributors raved about the sonic benefits of their range of ADD-Powr products and its technology. The developer's counterproductive marketing behavior here notwithstanding, that puts his products in the category of one's I'd consider.
Thank you for the kind words. My above comments were a spur of the moment, indeed passionate, attempt o boldly inform what is assumed in the market of harmonic resonance technology products. If construed as "clumsy" promotion I'll live with it.

Hi Mark @corepowertech

I sent you a few emails last weeks via Verafi website form, without success it seems. Now I take duly note of your email address that you kindly posted above on this thread,
I’d like to know if you already have available SnubWay and MainStreet units with EU Schuko plug built in, being based in Italy and if you can ship to my country.

SnubWay filters in particular are more effective if plugged into power conditioner (the one that feed the system) or closer to SMPSs that generate noise? For instance I have a few iPad charger and LED lights SMPSs plugged into a Furutech power distributor, on a separated non-dedicated line, in the same listening room but part of another circuit so to speak.

Last question: many power distributors or conditioners are designed to keep each of their own sockets star grounded, in order to avoid cross contamination, does this thing compromise the effectiveness of the SnubWay?

TIA

In case you wonder if different wall warts put out different amounts of nasties into your mains: they do.
A very nice chap in a few German language fora named „Solid Core“ had measured some 10 units.
Clear winner with cleanest 5W output and least noise injected into mains was this unit:

Make sure it is exactly this one, with GAN.
Cheers, Ulrich

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.

Best thing to do is eliminate wall warts period. I have and still use Marks filters.

I’m using a Fidelity Audio filter and 2 x Kemp SNS. Just added the second Kemp yesterday and really liking the results.

Good Afternoon

I understand that there are several new reviews coming over the next few days - Please look for a new SnubWay review at Part Time Audiophile ++

A new Video review at TONEAudio.

Thanks all - Mark

I had one of the initial offerings of the Snubway and it isn't going anywhere. My comments are still the same about this product.

Tom

It is a fine product and I have a few of their earlier Puron filters in my listening room as well 4 of the SDFB in my system.

I would like to do a head to head on the SDFB and the QSA Black and Red fuse....just to see how they compare.....maybe a mix of the two, as I really like what the QSA brings to the table.

I still have (currently) 5 Purons in the circuit.

I had red-blacks in my Lampi GG2/3 dac and VAC Master preamp and a red in a PSA P15 regenerator. They are not close to the SDFB with extreme piggy. I still have reds in my ATC speakers and JL Audio subs, but replacing those would be a good chunk of change.

I found the Nordost plugins had more noticeably more effect than the Puron, although I still use one of the latter. The Nordost QSINE has more effect than any of those. If I were starting the plug-in process again, I'd have tried first with the guy who created the Nordost pieces, whose company now is ADD-POWR (ExtraClear, Symphony Pro, Sorcerer, etc.).

Duly noted. We shall see. Thank you for your observations.
