The first Totaldac D1-Twelve Mk2 DAC in Hong Kong

Hi Vincent,

do you plans for HIGH END or HIFI DELUXE in Munich next year?

Thanks

Matt

Would like to report to Totaldac fans on powercords which suit Totaldac digital products.

A Totaldac owner friend of mine and I went to the HK dealer and paired some powercords with a Totaldac Twelve Mk2 a few weeks ago :

My frd brought two powercords made by Ensemble Audio in Swiss : Luminoso and Silinx Extrema :

We found that these two Ensemble powercords suit the sonic character of Totaldac Twelve Mk2 very much.
They can improve all hifish factors yet preserving the French musicality/finesse.

Another interesting and useful finding is that the Syn/Reclocker Unit of Twelve responds much more to powercords than the two mono dac units.
It has to be given a powercord of sufficient authority and macrodynamics.

If the Twelve psu is the 3-in-1 PSU, it's simple because a Silinx Extrema will take care of the whole Twelve.
If the Twelve got 3 separate small PSUs, Luminoso and Silinx Extrema can be used on the mono dac units and the Syn/reclocker unit respectively.

My 2 cents. :)

Hello Kris,
I don't have Extreme nor Twelve but several of my friends in HK are using them.
I have a diy Linux-based server and a complete MSB Select transport/dac combo.
Totaldac Twelve Mk2 is my 2nd favorite dac.

Hi Matt,
Probably HifiDeluxe in the same room as this year, very probably with the Totaldac d150-anniversary speakers.

Vincent,
do you provide streaming from Qobuz at upcoming Hifideluxe?
Thanks

Probably not, we have no guaranteed internet bandwidth in a hifi show, I prefer to run local files from a local router that I install in the room.

i'll be having my 2 power supplies (d1-direct, d1-server/reclocker) upgraded to live-power versions in early January.

has anyone here done this upgrade and have any feedback?

thank you Paul.
i've scheduled it for a planned vacation period to minimize my loss of music listening time

Vincent,
I like what the d1- driver does.
There are people who can not or do not want to use software VC.
Do you have plans to offer a hardware VC solution?
Thanks

Matt

Hello Vincent,
I went to Ben Lau's showroom to listen to the Totaldac Twelve mk2 with the new Livepower PSU today.
The Livepower is fully run-in now.

Very very good sound!
Much improved when compared to the previous PSU, particularly in the richness and authority yet the resolution and agility are not sacrificed.

All Totaldac owners should audition and consider the new Livepower PSU!

I love Vincent's designs and have been thinking about upgrading my equipment for awhile. This has been motivated, in part, by wanting to quit running Roon core on my iMac and instead run the core on a dedicated machine. On December 16, my d1-seven dac and d1-server are going back to France. Soon thereafter, I'll be receiving a d1-player, d1-streamer, d1-twelve mkII and livepower psu. Pretty excited!
