It depends where you are. 'Keith Don't Go' is popular in US shows, but 'No Sanctuary Here' by Chris Jones is played more often than Nils Lofgren in a lot of European shows.
From a demonstration perspective, it's a problem. You know there are a few dozen tracks that are audiophile 'dingers' - you play the track in it's like Pavlov ringing his little doggy lunch bell. You also know that - despite the rolling dislike for such tracks - anything else gives variable results. I was really impressed with one dealer playing just classical music at the UK's National Audio Show last year, but I know there were times when they were playing the music to themselves.
It's not even as if you can sandwich the more interesting music between audiophile-approved tracks. Even if the track in question is lost audiophile gold, if you stray off message too much, you lose about 40% of the audience fast. And it really doesn't take much - play the 'wrong' track on We Get Requests for example and you'll lose three people in the time it takes to rectify the mistake.
